    Your Bali adventure essentials

The first step to making sure that you have the best Bali trip is to be prepared! Here are some essentials that you shouldn’t overlook when getting ready for Bali:
    • Pocket WiFi or eSim - Having a steady internet connection is essential for traveling nowadays, and renting a pocket WiFi or purchasing an eSim is the surest way to always be online in Bali. Physical sim cards are also an option but they might not be compatible with all devices.
    • Sun protection - Bali has a tropical climate, which means you can expect the weather to be very sunny. Bring some sunscreen, even if you aren’t planning on going to the beach, as well as sunglasses and even a cap or hat.
    • Mosquito repellent - You can also expect mosquitos in Bali so if you want to avoid the bites, it would be wise to bring some environmentally-friendly repellent
    • Food and activity passes - Availing a food pass or an activity pass is a smart way to discover new experiences on the cheap. Just confirm your reservation a few days in advance and enjoy more while spending less.
    • Correct attire - Some places (such as temples, high end restaurants, or night clubs) might not allow shorts, slippers, or short-sleeved shirts, so it’s better to be safe than sorry and pack at least one set of pants, shoes, and a long-sleeved shirt.
Klook Tip: Drinking water from restaurants and cafes is perfectly safe but regular tap water isn’t recommended for drinking, so make sure you’re stocked up on bottled water throughout the day.

    Airport transfers and transportation tips

posing with their bali mode of transportation
Once you arrive at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport (also known as Denpasar International Airport), getting to your hotel accommodation can get a bit hectic, so to make things easier, you can find private cars or taxis to get you to your destination, but doing so on the spot might require you to do a bit of haggling before you land on a fair price with the driver.
Your best bet for a worry-free trip from the airport to your hotel is by arranging your airport transfer ahead of time. You can choose to book transport through your hotel or even via the Klook app for that added layer of privacy and security.
Klook Tip: Make sure your WhatsApp is up to date before you head to Bali! WhatsApp is one of the most used communication apps in Bali and will make getting in touch with your hotel, drivers, and contacts a lot simpler.
On the off chance that your hotel can’t provide its own shuttle service (or if you’re traveling with a group composed of people from different hotels), you can always charter your own private car. We recommend chartering before you arrive in Bali and doing so through a service to guarantee that the terms and conditions of your charter don’t suddenly change while you’re already on the road.

If you use Klook to help you get around Bali, you’ll be able to customize the duration of the charter, how many people can ride, and even your choice of English, Korean, Chinese, or Indonesian-speaking drivers!
