Detective Conan Comes To Singapore In His Newest Movie: Fist Of The Blue Sapphire!

Fans of the hit Japanese anime series Detective Conan, we’ve got good news for you! While many anime movies opt for fictional locations as the setting of the movie, you’ll be glad to know that Detective Conan doesn’t. The new Detective Conan: Fist of the Blue Sapphire movie will be set in the beautiful city of Singapore!

For the uninitiated, the comic series follows the adventures of a high-school student who, while investigating a mysterious syndicate, is transformed into a child. The movie is set to premiere on 12 April 2019. Can’t wait for the movie to be out? Head on over to Singapore to explore these locations firsthand!

Here are some of the locations revealed in the trailer:

This is not the first time the iconic Singapore Merlion has been featured in Japanese anime. Also featured in a series called “ A Place Further Than The Universe” and “Zetsuen no Tempest”, the part lion part fish makes its appearance in the trailer of Fist of the Blue Sapphire.

The Merlion seems to be spewing out something different from what he normally spews out. It seems to appear to be spewing out blood, which in Singaporean slang “ vomit blood” is an expression of frustration or extreme aggravation.

Ride a segway or E-scooter  around the Marina Bay and zoom past the Merlion and other sights like Esplanade, the Helix Bridge and other attractions!

This infinity pool is one Singapore’s most iconic attractions and for good reason! Cuddle up with Bae as you watch the sunset and the night scape come alive with coloUr. Overlooking the Central Business District, you can expect stunning views no matter what time you visit.

Although in the movie, the Marina Bay Sands hotel is the scene of a murder, we promise the only scary thing that will happen on your visit to this beautiful place is your unwillingness to leave.

Apart from the infinity pool, head over to the Marina Bay Sands Skypark for insanely great views of the city. Enjoy uninterrupted views of the city’s best sights, from the Supertrees at Gardens by the Bay to the Singapore Flyer.

The Detective Conan Town is a dream come true if you’ve been following this anime series. When you step into the town of Hokuei in Tottori Prefecture, which is also the birthplace of Aoyama the manga artist, the mystery franchise is all around.

Upon arrival at the Tottori Sand Dunes Conan Airport, you’ll be greeted with manga standees everywhere! There are also interactive games that are, of course, Detective Conan themed.

You will also find a Conan-themed train that stops at Yura Station, aka Conan station.  This train runs along the JR San’in Line in the prefectures of Tottori and Shimane. You can even pick up Detective Conan goods and manga books while you’re there.

Following the release of the film “Zero the Enforcer” in April 2018 was the opening of 11 Detective Conan cafes in Japan! These cafes serve up delicious themed dishes and also sell exclusive Conan merchandise!

Some of the special dishes include the Macrobiotics Dry Curry which comes served with a quiz on a paper napkin from Ai Haibara. You’ll even find some APTX4869 shaped capsules in your salads!

The cafes can be found in Shibuya(Tokyo), Yurakucho(Tokyo), Sendai, Saitama, Chiba, Yokohama, Shizuoka, Nagoya, Abeno, Umeda, Hiroshima, Fukuoka and Kumamoto. Don’t forget to make a reservation before heading down because you will be given an original cafe sticker!
