What attractions can I visit at Gardens by the Bay?
Where to even begin? How about the fact that this massive nature park is home to the world's tallest indoor waterfall?
Gardens by the Bay comprises three waterfront gardens: Bay South, Bay East Garden, and Bay Central Garden. Each section has its own specific landscaping design with its share of unique facilities. Bay East Garden features an open green space filled with bay gardens, while Bay Central Garden has a three-kilometer water promenade. However, if you're looking for popular sites, Bay South is the place to go.
As the largest of the waterfront bay gardens, Bay South is home to many famous attractions. From cooled conservatories to unique aerial walkways that rival the view from Marina Bay Sands, this section has been a crowd-puller for years with its incredible aesthetics and otherworldly ambiance.
You won't likely get to try all of them on the same day, so here's a rundown of all the attractions in Bay South to help you make an efficient itinerary!
1. Cloud Forest
The Cloud Forest is one of two biomes inside Gardens by the Bay Singapore. Home to the world's tallest indoor waterfall and Crystal Mountain, Cloud Forest's tropical highlands ambiance is the perfect spot if you've been itching to reconnect with nature.
At Lost World, you can find yourself amidst a unique blend of flora and unusual plants native to the Cloud Forest habitats, such as orchids, begonias, and heaps of moss and ferns. Then, you can descend to Crystal Mountain and Secret Garden, which will make you feel like you're inside limestone caves and forests. Our must-visit inside Cloud Forest? The 35-metre tall waterfall! This majestic fall provides an incredible panoramic view of Marina Bay at the top and serves as an excellent backdrop for your Insta pics.
If you plan to visit anytime soon, make sure to check out the Orchids of Angkor Wat, which will be on display until September 8, 2024. It features beautiful orchids from Cambodia.
2. Floral Fantasy
Feel the flower power at Floral Fantasy, home to four diverse garden landscapes. Feast your eyes on vibrant suspended flowering plants, visit the tiny poison dart frogs vivarium, or meet Nobu, the garden guardian.
There's so much to see and do inside Floral Fantasy. You can even get on the 4D ride, which takes you on a trip around Gardens by the Bay from a dragonfly's point of view. While other plants may be the focus in other gardens at the bay, flowers are the star here. So get your cameras ready and get that Insta-worthy shot!
3. Flower Dome
Can't get enough flowers? Visit Gardens by the Bay's second biome, the Flower Dome, and witness all sorts of exotic plant species in its nine gardens. This breathtaking display features a vast collection of plants native to unique habitats like the Mediterranean region, South African savannahs, and arid deserts.
Here, you'll get up close to the gigantic African baobabs (yes, just like the trees in The Little Prince!), succulents, shrubs, and the 1000-year-old olive tree. Also, you'd definitely want to catch the Carnival of Flowers, Australia's longest-running flower show, before it ends on September 17, 2024.
4. Supertree Grove
Of course, a trip to Gardens by the Bay wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Supertree Observatory! Home to the tallest supertree at 50 meters tall, this marvelous display has lured many to flock toward its canopy just to admire its beauty.
Get your cameras ready because awe-inspiring views await you at the open-air rooftop deck, from the bay's lush surrounds to unobstructed views of Singapore's cityscape and the Marina Bay Sands. Go one level down for the Observatory Deck, where a digital experience will show you all you need to know about climate change.
But what truly makes this attraction a crowd-puller is the Garden Rhapsody and Borealis evening shows. Witness the supertrees light up the night sky, wowing guests with their magnificent colors.
Klook fun fact: Did you know that the tallest supertree is as tall as a 16-storey building?
5. OCBC Skyway
Wanna get a nice pic of the Gardens? Climb up the OCBC Skyway to capture that postcard-perfect shot of the lush green surroundings of Gardens by the Bay.
OCBC Skyway is a 128-metre-long walkway suspended between two supertrees 22 meters above the ground! Its unique aerial walkways provide a great view of the city skyline and Marina south. And for all you romantics, it's also the perfect place to catch the sunset with your partner, so take note!
