Shinjuku is a bustling hotspot in Tokyo, and packs a punch with lots of department stores and shops, scattered amongst charming alleys lined with restaurants and bars. It’s also one of the city’s biggest and busiest train stations. It’s served by the train companies of JR East, Keio Corporation, Tokyo Metro, Toei Subway, and Odakyu Electric Railway — and is a total maze.
Fun fact: The entire above/underground train complex has over 200 exits. Imagine that!
It’s within walking distance of the Shinjuku Expressway and Highway bus terminals, and even has a direct shared bus transfer to Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea. From Haneda or Narita airports, simply hop onto a limousine bus to Shinjuku station’s West or East exit, or directly to certain hotels like Keio Plaza Hotel.

The building’s grand facade is a sight to behold — due to its sheer size, the station is split into the Yaesu (east) and Marunouchi (west) wings.
