Pandawa Beach (also known as Pantai Pandawa in Bahasa Indonesia) has risen in popularity over the past few years, thanks to its white-sand beaches and crystal-clear waters that are still well-preserved up until now. If the name isn’t as familiar as other Bali beaches, that’s because it was a hidden gem for the longest time – literally.
It’s behind a mountainous area, tucked away at the tip of the Bukit Peninsula a little further away from major cities like Denpasar. Thankfully, a road was built through the cliffside area, and it is now easily accessible to the public.
And what a waste to miss out on it! It’s one of the longest beaches in Bali, spanning about 800 meters along the coastline, and the journey to get there is a unique experience in itself. We give you all the details on how to get to Pandawa Beach in this guide, so if you’re down for an adventure, keep reading for more.

What mode of transportation do I take to get to Pandawa Beach?

The most convenient way to get there is via a private car. Availability of public transportation and Grab/taxis may be unpredictable in this part of Bali, so your best bet is to already have your own ride going there and back.
The area surrounding Pandawa Beach is well-developed so the roads are safe to pass through despite being a mountain area. There are some visitors who even use a scooter to get around if they’re coming from the neighboring beach areas! Parking lots are available right beside Pandawa Beach.
Car rental is an option here since you can pin Pandawa Beach on Google Maps for real-time directions. If you want to skip the stress of navigating an unfamiliar area by yourself, though, you can also consider chartering a private car. You can check with your accommodation if they can coordinate this for you, or you can book it ahead of time on platforms like Klook.
This is the best option for first-time visitors to the area, especially since the local driver also serves as your guide for the trip. Plus, there’s no need to worry about any changes in price since you’ve already settled payment in advance. If you book on Klook, you can choose from 6-hour and 12-hour packages for either sedans or vans. These packages are available for different zones in Bali, including Pandawa Beach.
The best part of all? The private car is all yours for those hours that you’ve booked, so you’re free to add different stops in the zone you’ve selected. You can always ask your driver for any recommendations, too! Talk about a flexible itinerary. 🙂‍↕️

How do I get to Pandawa Beach via car?

Whether you’re driving yourself or have a driver with you, here’s what to expect on the way to Pandawa Beach. The most popular way to get there is through the Jalan Pantai Pandawa road (Google Maps).

As we mentioned earlier, this road cuts through the mountain area, so you’ll be driving past massive limestone structures like in the photo! Isn’t the journey part of the destination? The area is pretty well-developed, and you can expect to see huge signs once you’re approaching it so you know you’re on the right track.

Klook Tip: It takes roughly 1-2 hours to get there from places like Ubud, Kuta, Seminyak, and Canggu (excluding traffic!), so don’t forget to bring drinks and snacks for the road. If you’re going on a day trip, we recommend leaving early in the morning so you don’t get caught up in the jams.

What can I do in Pandawa Beach?

Once you get to Pandawa Beach, you’ll first have to pay an entrance fee of 15,000 IDR (approximately USD $0.97).  This is a little higher than other beaches in the area, but it’s well worth it considering how maintained this stretch is.
The waters are usually calm enough for swimming, and kayaking is especially popular here. You can rent kayaking equipment from the abundance of stores and rental places by the shore. They usually only take cash though, so don’t forget to have some on hand! There are also lots of local shops to eat in, so feel free to explore some Balinese beach grub.
This beach is more on the quiet side and the waves are quite gentle, so you can enjoy a laidback day just strolling along the shore and taking in the views. This is a popular area for large groups and families, but with how long its beachfront is, you’ll surely secure a spot for some well-deserved R&R.

Where can I stay in Pandawa Beach?

If you’d like to extend your stay in this area, you definitely can. Properties are a bit further away from the beachfront, but they’re just close enough to walk or take a short ride from. Here are some places to consider.
