A little preparation may go a long way toward avoiding accidents and injuries. So, before you set out to cycle in Singapore, check that your bike is in good working order. Here are some safety tips:
    • Put on a helmet. A helmet can help protect your head if you fall from your bike or collide with another vehicle on the road.
    • Stay on the bike lanes. When riding in traffic, stay on the bike routes wherever feasible and respect all traffic signals – including stop signs.
    • Be attentive. It's also critical to stay alert to your surroundings and follow speed limits.
    • Stay hydrated. Don’t forget to bring a water bottle so you can refill it along the way. Putting on a hat and sunscreen would be a good idea, too, to prevent sunburn and overheating.
