    New Immersive Art Coming to Teamlab Planets TOKYO this 2025

    Japan’s most-Instagrammable art museum teamLab Planets TOKYO DMM has announced an exciting large-scale expansion coming in 2025! Known for its immersive digital art exhibits and sensational Insta-worthy displays, teamLab Planets is a must-do in Tokyo, and a hot favourite among tourists and locals alike.

    When Will the New Areas Be Open?

    The new exhibitions in the teamLab Planets expansion is slated to open on 22 January 2025.

    What to Expect at teamLab Planets New Expansion?

    The new expansion is touted to expand the museum's entire space by 1.5 times with three new interactive art spaces - Athletics Forest, Catch and Collect Extinct Forest, and Learn! Future Park - which will be home to more than ten immersive artworks, including a new Sketch Factory, where visitors can take home original products (pin badges, hand towels, T-shirts, tote bags, paper crafts) customised with the pictures they've created in the art space. In addition, the outdoor space will also be extensively renovated.

    Athletics Forest

    At Athletics Forest, guests can enjoy art by moving their body, from jumping and running to even balancing on obstacles.

    Caterpillar House's High-Speed ​​Rotating Bouncing Ball

    High-Speed ​​Spinning Bouncing Ball is a room full of spinning spheres - approach one and it'll stop, allowing you to step (and bounce!) on it!

    Catch and Collect Extinct Forest - A Whole Year per Year

    Interact with 'the real world' and learn more about animals here at the Catch and Collect Extinct Forest.
    Use the app to watch animals walking through the space, and shoot an "observation arrow" at an animal. If the "observation arrow" hits an animal, it disappears from the space and enters your smartphone. Information about the animal you observed is collected in the app's illustrated book. You can release your animal by throwing it in a location visible to the app's camera and it will be released and return to that spot. How cool is that?

    Learn! The amusement park of the future

    This 'amusement park' is where you can enjoy freely creating and collaborating in a world together with others.
