The Kyoto-Nara day trip is a fantastic experience. Minako is knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about sharing the rich history and culture of both cities. Her insights and guidance make the trip smooth and enjoyable, ensuring you get the most out of every stop. Highly recommended for an informative and well-organized tour!

very convenient and efficient way to tour around kyoto.. it covers the attractions you must see around kyoto. it also allows you to sightsee at your own time and pace since you can just ride the next bus if you want to stay longer in a particular area

We had the best day on our tour with Theodore, we cannot recommend this tour or him enough! We learnt so much about the deep history of Japan and the locations we visited and felt luxurious being chauffeured in a private air conditioned 12 seater van being dropped off as close as possible to locations and watching others walking with heavy backpacks from the train stations. After explaining that these are some of the oldest and most important sites to Japan history and their significance we were so glad we did it! Theodore was very charming and our highlight - he can not only speak multiple languages very well but he is very knowledgeable about the history of the locations and their legends. We walked away with many new facts about Japan and the locations we visited to tell our family back home about eastern religion, history and culture. Not only did Theodore tell us about history but he was so helpful all day, he would point out toilets, his favourite/recommended places to eat, and he would always walk you to the location and give you an introduction on it and tell you where to go and how to get back. We had the perfect amount of time at each location for viewing, eating and shopping! He also very kindly took photos for people in our group and knew the best locations for photos - they turned out really great! I really enjoyed being able to ask any questions I wanted as it was a small group (approx 12ppl) and Theodore would often stop to make sure everyone was together and take breaks when walking up the big hill to kiyomizu-dera. And again he would say all of this in multiple languages it was amazing! This was truly such a great tour and very much worth every cent.

we didn’t expect a full tour with this mainly because it was our first time in japan and we had a toddler but we did visit all three locations and took photos however as expected it wasn’t enough time to visit ninenzaka and fushimi inari. the bus driver allowed us to bring a stoller on the bus and the tour guide was always easy accessible on whatsapp. overall satisfied

So, the itinerary is a bit intense, especially so in 38°C heat, but overall it was well worth it. The stop at Kiyomizu-Dera is definitely my highlight, as you first get to walk the street and check all the shops yourself, and then the views at the temple are stunning. The other stops were great photo opportunities too. The guide was so lovely and her English was pretty good, she told us a lot of interesting facts, and seemed very organised.

Atsushi Higashie was our tour guide, and he took the time to explain some of the history of Japan, including the five levels of the pagoda and some of the history in regards to Shintoism and Buddhism as it relates to the history of Kyoto. The night walking tour was perfect because the weather was cooler and we got to see some amazing views.
