Hakone Matata~ It was such a beautiful place!! I would have been in big trouble if I hadn't goneㅜ ㅋㅋ I couldn't see Mt. Fuji because of the clouds, so I was like, what the heck is Mt. Fuji..? Then, when we got to the last stop, Fuji City, the Mt. Fuji I saw was amazing!! I hope this tour doesn't disappear and continuesㅠㅜㅠㅜ The guide worked hard even driving~

Our tour guide Mari San was very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. The itinerary whilst busy, still allowed for ample time on Mijayima. The time at the Peace Park was a little rushed as we didn’t get enough time at the museum. Would still highly recommend this tour.

Yoshiko Misaki was a thoughtful guide. We appreciate her kindness in taking into consideration the physical conditions we were in as she guided us through this tour. A good example was she looked for a easier climb to facilitate us in going up the Hokokujinja Senjokaku Pavilion. She also ensured that we took little breaks in between before proceeding to the next place of interest. Thank you Yoshiko 💕

Sadly we can see the Mt Fuji, but everything was still make us so happy cause we can see the Shiraito Fall and also other beautiful places while raining. It makes the trip feel romantic. And Kei (our beloved guide) did a great job for us, we really apreciate that. We highly recommend this tour for you, so you can feel what we feel. Thank you ❤️

we had a fun day with Yoshi our tour guide. she was funny, friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. very accommodating to what you want to do throughout your tour. communication was great, we received a few messages the day before our tour to confirm time and meet up location and Yoshi was there early and ready to go as soon as we arrived. We did lots of walking so be prepared with comfortable shoes and clothing! I am glad we found this private tour last minute, it will definitely be a highlight of our Japan trip!

Must-see Sites at Itsukushima

Itsukushima Shinto Shrine

Itsukushima Shrine is the star of Itsukushima Island. It's famous for its floating torii gate, which looks like it's hovering above the water during high tide. While you're there, you have to check out the other shrine buildings nearby. You can walk through the main shrine building, the purification hall, and the West and East corridors. Also, remember to pay respect to the three female gods the shrine honors.

Mount Misen

For amazing views of the Seto Inland Sea, you need to hike up Mount Misen. If you don't want to walk up the mountain, you can take the Miyajima Ropeway. Enjoy breathtaking sights and maybe even see some local wildlife along the trails. At the top, you'll find sacred places like the Reikado eternal flame, which people believe has been burning for 1,200 years.

Daisho-in Temple

Daisho-in Temple is a special place at the foot of Mount Misen on Miyajima Island. This temple is filled with interesting Buddhist statues, mandalas, and gardens. While you're there, don't miss the chance to join in a traditional tea ceremony.

Senjokaku (Toyokuni Shrine)

Senjokaku is a huge, unfinished wooden hall on Itsukushima Island. It's on a hill close to the famous Itsukushima Shrine and offers amazing views of the area. Even though it was never completed, the hall's wide open spaces and old history from the Edo period attract a lot of visitors. Nearby, you can also see a beautiful five-story pagoda, which shows off striking Japanese architecture.

Museum of History

The Museum of History is full of interesting artifacts and exhibits that explore the island's past. You can learn about Itsukushima Shrine's fascinating history and why it's a world heritage site. Its interactive displays and well-kept relics also let you know more about life during the late Heian period and how the island changed over the years.

Miyajima Aquarium

For a fun time, you have to check out the Miyajima Aquarium on Itsukushima Island. This place lets you explore the amazing marine life from the Seto Inland Sea and other areas. You can enjoy interactive exhibits with colorful fish, playful seals, and otters.
