If you can't decide on what to see and do, don't worry! Here's our 3D2N Penang itinerary that will take you from mural chasing in George Town to hiking and scenic views from Penang Hill.
P/S: Feel free to customise it and tweak it to your needs and wants!
Day One
Brunch at Ayer Itam Assam Laksa
You can't say you've been to Penang without trying the ever so famous assam laksa - so there's no better way to start your trip than indulging in a bowl (or two!). Slurp up bouncy noodles and mouth-watering sour-spicy savoury soup at Air Itam Laksa Bisu, located in Ayer Itam Food Court. The tangy and sweet fish paired together with the fresh vegetables will definitely leave you wanting more!
Address: Ayer Itam Market Food Court, Jalan Air Itam, Pekan Air Itam, 11500 Air Itam, Pulau Pinang
Heritage Trishaw Ride
Start your exploration of the island with a fun trishaw ride around the charming city of Georgetown. It's one of the best ways to discover the many colonial buildings and religious sites as well as soak in the town's old world charm.
Affectionately called a beca by the locals, the trishaw is a three-wheeled taxi that shaped the city's transportation since the 1950s. Hop on and allow your rider to bring you around the city’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Fort Cornwallis, Khoo Kongsi, and more!
Go Mural Hunting
Besides visiting Penang's main attractions, another great sightseeing must-do is mural chasing! One of the hotspots to find these artworks is along Armenian Street, where you can find famous works such as the Brother and Sister on a Swing, Boy on Motorbike, and Kids on Bicycle.
Make sure you load up on sunscreen before your adventure though, as the sun can be quite harsh during the day. Many restaurants, eateries or even hotels also have their own murals too. With an artistic backdrop at every corner, it's definitely #OOTD spots galore, get ready to snap away!
Georgetown Interactive Museums
Scattered across Georgetown are interactive museums that promise fun for all visitors, no matter your age. One of our favourites would be the WonderFood Museum, a museum dedicated to all-things food!
Wander through the galleries and snap amusing photos here with larger-than-life displays of Malaysian dishes like your favourite laksa, durian, ice kacang, and many more! Book discounted tickets on Klook and enjoy a convenient entry by simply flashing your voucher code at the counter.
Address: 49, Lebuh Pantai, George Town, 10200 George Town, Pulau Pinang
Another interactive museum in Georgetown that you can't miss is the Dark Mansion, Malaysia's very first and only glow-in-the-dark museum! This trendy modern art museum creatively integrates technology with its art installations, transforming 2D paintings into awesome 3D optical illusions.
Immerse yourself in a world of interactive glow-in-the-dark exhibits and get ready to snap cool photos with amazing glowing artworks galore!

When in Penang, it’s totally a must to stop for a cendol break (so refreshing on hot and sunny days!). The best bowl of ice cold cendol can be found at Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul. Indulge in the sweet, yet thirst-quenching combination of shaved ice, chilled coconut milk, pandan jelly strands, kidney beans and gula melaka. Yum!
The long queue is honestly worth the wait for Penang’s famous dessert, but the line moves pretty fast, so you don't have to worry!
