1. Donkas Lab
Tonkatsu is more commonly known as a Japanese dish, but did you know that the Koreans love it just as much as the Japanese do? Dig into delicious Korean-style tonkatsu that's crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside - you can choose to eat it with Korean-style curry rice, kimchi fried rice, kimchi jjigae, ramyun, or even topped with jajang sauce.
The restaurant has a cosy environment (with a mini stage where there are live band performances on selected nights), friendly staff, and serves up food in huge portions. Head over with your friends and family so you can order a few different dishes and share them!

2. Pocha
Pocha is a hidden gem tucked away in an unsuspecting shoplot in Ampang. If you're craving for some authentic Korean food, here's the place to head to. Run by an old Korean couple, this is a no-frills eatery that doesn't even have a proper signboard, has walls plastered with scraps of paper, a narrow corridor, handwritten menus, and private dining rooms separated by wood partitions.
You can get the usual Korean dishes here from delicious Korean pancakes to teokbokki with ramen, cold noodles, and comforting soups. The restaurant's old-school ambiance makes up for quite a unique dining experience! Do note though that it is known to be pretty hard to get a seat, and the owners do not speak much English.

3. Uncle Jang
There are many Korean dakgalbi (stir-fried chicken) restaurants in KL, but Uncle Jang is definitely a crowd-favourite and arguably one of the best (in fact, it's the first dakgalbi restaurant that opened doors in Malaysia back in 2007). Nothing beats the fun and satisfaction of eating from a giant round hot plate in the middle of the table over great conversations with your friends or family.
Dig into juicy boneless chicken stir-fried with cabbage, sweet potatoes, gochujang sauce, and Korean rice cakes. You can also opt to add on ramen or cheese for a more filling meal, or simply eat it with rice or fresh lettuce. End your meal by allowing the staff to add on a bowl of rice to be cooked together with the remaining dakgalbi you have!

4. Buldojang
Buldojang is a Korean-Chinese restaurant located in Desa Sri Hartamas. The restaurant specializes in Koreanized Chinese dishes, with the most popular one being their delicious jjajangmyeon! If you love the taste of sweet and salty black bean noodles, you'll have to give Buldojang a try. The restaurant is popular amongst Koreans living in the area, as well as Korean expatriates.
The jjajangmyeon here comes served in a huge bowl that can easily feed 2 - 3 adults, so make sure you don't over-order unless you're very hungry! We also suggest trying our their sweet and sour pork (tangsuyuk) and spicy seafood soup noodles for a taste you won't forget.

5. Little Korea Restaurant
Little Korea is a gem in Solaris Month Kiara where you can enjoy authentic Korean cuisine without burning a hole in your wallet. Eventhough its flanked by many other Korean eateries in the area, Little Korea manages to stand out from the crowd and is often crowded with hungry patrons during dinner time - it'll be best to call up and make a reservation especially if you're planning to head over on a Friday or weekend.

8. Han Kang Restaurant
Han Kang Restaurant is one of the hidden gems on our list - this restaurant is Desa Sri Hartamas is a specialty Korean eatery that specializes in handmade naengmyun (cold noodles) and gukbap (rice with hot soup), an authentic Busan noodle dish that you may not be able to find elsewhere in Malaysia.
If you love comforting soupy dishes, consider giving gukbape a taste, this traditional dish originates from Busan and consists of a tasty, hearty soup boiled for hours. Cooked rice is added to the soup and boiled together to produce a delicious dish that's satisfying especially on rainy days or cold nights. 9. Gangnam 88

11. Sae Ma Eul BBQ
Sae Ma Eul is probably a familiar name if you're a fan of Korean BBQ, but if you haven't tried it yet, it's time to pop by for a BBQ feast! The restaurant was awarded the "best and most affordable Korean BBQ restaurant" in Klang Valley. Enjoy tasty meat grilled on a charcoal grill and unlimited side dishes to balance out the flavours.
The restaurant is also popular for its spicy rice balls - you'll be presented with a bowl of rice, meat, paste, and seaweed and can do the honour of mixing all the ingredients together before rolling your own rice balls (we find this process super fun!). Place them on the grill for a delicious, crispy, charred finish.

12. Chi Mac Bistro
Located in Solaris Mont Kiara, Chi Mac Bistro is the perfect place to head to if you're craving some good old Korean fried chicken and beer. It's popular as a late night or supper spot as it is open up till midnight.
Besides delicious fried chicken (with flavours like snow onion chicken, soy sauce chicken, and bacon spinach chicken), you can also order some street food or mains - some of the popular dishes here include pork neck and beondegi soup. 13. Da On Fine Korean Cuisine (halal)
If you're looking for a Korean restaurant for a special celebration, fun gathering, or a fancy meal to treat yourself, Da On is the place to go to. Specializing in Korean fine dining, Da On serves traditional Korean cuisine from mouthwatering beef ribs to nutritious samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup), dakgalbi (stir-fried chicken), bulgogi (marinated beef), bibimbap (mixed rice with vegetables), and seafood hot pot.
They take pride in using only premium meat and ingredients in all their dishes, and guarantees a pleasant dining experience though the price point may be slightly higher than other Korean restaurants in Klang Valley. 14. Dookki Malaysia (no pork no lard)
If you love tteokbokki, Dookki will be a heaven-on-earth for you! Dookki is a popular franchise in South Korea that opened its first outlet in Malaysia at IOI City Mall back in 2019. The most unique part of this restaurant? It serves up a 90-minute all-you-can-eat tteokbokki buffet complete with free-flow soft drinks!
Feast on six different types of chewy rice cakes flown all the way from South Korea, and pair your meal with fish cakes, chicken, seafood, tempura, vegetables, mushrooms, and even ramen. The rice cakes will be cooked in a simmering pot of soup (with spiciness level of your preference) - you can even opt for a double cheese ring around your pot!

15. Palsaik Korean BBQ
Did you know that palsaik means 'eight colours' in Korean? Palsaik is a Korean BBQ place that serves up eight-coloured samgyupsal - pork belly slices that come in 8 different flavours! The eight flavours are: ginseng, wine, garlic, herb, curry, miso, and hot pepper - all colours are naturally-derived and the flavours are 100% natural (free of synthetic additives), making it a healthy yet delicious meal.
Allow the staff at Palsaik to grill the meat starting from the lightest to strongest flavours along with mushrooms, garlic, and vegetables to balance out the flavours. Taste the perfectly-grilled meat and see if you can identify the flavours since they usualy look the same upon grilling. Daorae is another popular BBQ spot in Klang Valley, often praised for its consistent, high-quality food, clean and comfortable restaurants, friendly staff, and attentive service. With a few restaurants in town, you can easily locate one near your place to satisfy your cravings whenever they kick in.
As the restaurant is managed and monitored by a Korean owner, you can expect authentic Korean dishes that may remind you of the BBQ eateries in Korea. Even the side dishes are delicious (and not to forget generously refillable!) - some even claim they serve the best kimchi in town. While most people head here for the BBQ, their other dishes like japchae, soups, and ramyun also taste great.

17. Kyochon 1991
Kyochon has amassed a strong base of loyal patrons since the opening of its first store in Malaysia, and its easy to understand why. Bite into delicious wingettes and drumettes of your preferred flavour - the most popular ones are the soy garlic and red pepper series! If you'd like to try a variety of flavours, you can get a combination set or a sampler - you'll most probably end up licking your fingers when you finish.
