Drive duration: 2 hours KL - Gopeng + 30 minutes to Ipoh
This route's perfect for travellers looking for a laid-back road trip with lots of fresh air and good food. Gopeng is a tranquil town in Perak surrounded by beautiful limestone cliffs, rivers, caves, and rainforests, known for its tin mining activities back in the olden days. If you're feeling adventurous, consider spending a night in a tent at the charming Gopeng Glamping Park where you'll get to sleep beneath a starry sky and spend the next morning on a white water rafting adventure and exploring some historical pre-war buildings that dot the Gopeng old town.
After a night in Gopeng, a leisure 30-minute drive will bring you to Ipoh for some good old tau fu fah, Ipoh white coffee, and chicken rice. Make sure you plan a soak in the hot springs at the Lost World Of Tambun to rejuvenate after a long day!

Although Seremban isn't famed for its tourist attractions, it has the rustic charm of a small provincial town and is fun and easy to explore. Pop by Restaurant Yi Poh for some yummy lou shu fun (this spot is often packed with locals and foodies from all over Malaysia!) and walk across the street to get some siew paos from the popular Siew Pau Master.

3. Kuala Lumpur - Genting Highlands - Bukit Tinggi
Drive duration: 50 minutes KL - Genting + 40 minutes to Bukit Tinggi
For those who are itching for a short getaway but are reluctant to travel too far, this route's perfect for you! Pack your jacket and drive 50 minutes uphill to Genting Highlands for some chilly breeze. This route's for the foodies! Drive up north to food heaven for some good old char kuey teow, oyster omelette, and asam laksa in Penang after a stopover in Ipoh for some dim sum and Ipoh white coffee.
While in Penang, take a 10-minute ferry ride to Pulau Jerejak, a colourful gem dotted with beautiful photo spots including a rainbow pier and a romantic swing by the beach! Watch the sun set and take tons of pretty shots against a collection of colourful houses in every colour you can imagine.

After exploring the charm of Temerloh, continue on to Kuantan with a short 1.5 hours drive! Kuantan offers great hiking spots, beaches, and historical sites waiting to be explored. Whether you're looking to relax in the ocean breeze or go waterfall-chasing, you're bound to find something for you in Kuantan.
