Your 2020 Guide to Thorpe Park - the UK's Most Thrilling Theme Park!
If the Inbetweeners taught us anything (besides the fact that caravanning gives you a sense of freedom you don't get with other holidays 😂), it’s that Thorpe Park is pretty much the BEST way to spend a day (or two) during summer in the UK!
And with more than 30 adrenaline-racing rides, attractions and live events, it’s easy to see why! So you can imagine how happy we were (and we can only imagine how happy you were!) when the news came that the UK’s most thrilling theme park was open again!
Yep, Thorpe Park reopened on 4th July and under a whole range of newly implemented health and safety measures designed to keep its visitors safe. You can read more about them by viewing the article below, but for now, let us tell you exactly what makes Thorpe Park so thrilling!
The Rides
One of Thorpe Park’s claims to the thrill seeking hall of fame, is its impressive list of rides and rollercoasters, within which they include…*deep breath*...
Nemesis Inferno, The Walking Dead: The Ride, Colossus, Stealth (which in case you didn’t know, is the UK's fastest roller coaster, sending riders to 205ft at 80mph in just 2.5 seconds!), Derren Brown's Ghost Train, Rise of the Demon, oh, and SAW: The Ride which just happens to have a 100ft beyond-vertical drop! So yeah, definitely nothing thrilling or jaw dropping or heart-racing about that little line-up! 😱
The Swarm
Enjoy the exhilaration of experiencing the country's only winged roller coaster, The Swarm! Set against the backdrop of a post-apocalyptic world, The Swarm will send you flying through billboards, under the wing of a crashed plane and take you hurtling past an abandoned helicopter at speeds close to 100km/h with up to 4.5G force! 🚀
Now, we don‘t know about you, but we think that The Swarm alone earns Thorpe Park the title of being the UK’s most thrilling theme park! 🏆
The Water Rides
From the spiralling madness of Storm Surge, to the rolling of Rumba Rapids and the speed-laced lanes of Depth Charge, Thorpe Park’s water rides are the perfect way to finish off a day of well-deserved thrill-seeking!
OK, so there’s 3 (or more like 300!) excellent reasons right there for why Thorpe Park is still the place to be for thrill-seekers in the UK, but truth be told, we’re feeling out of breath just writing about these action-packed rides, so we’re gonna take a break and start planning our next visit! And as luck would have it, if you book your tickets through Klook, you can add on a private car transfer from Central London, so you don’t have to worry about negotiating public transport with the kids in tow!
And in the meantime, if you need any help deciding when to go, just drop us a note on Facebook or Instagram.
Until then, happy thrill-seeking, thrill seekers!
