Outdoor Activities Singapore
Head outdoors, conquer these activities in the sun and get ready to work up a sweat! There’re plenty more to see and do outside of staying indoors in Singapore and some things are worth bearing the heat for.
Go island hopping at Singapore’s Southern Islands or try stand up paddle-boarding at Ola Beach Club, we’ve got a list of outdoor things to add to your weekend to-do list.
1. Go Island Hopping at the Southern Islands
Visit the offshore Southern Islands of Singapore on an island-hopping day out! If you’ve had to postpone your beach holiday plans, this is a great alternative. Enjoy the beaches of Lazarus Island, check out the marine life conservation efforts at St John’s Island before heading to Kusu Island to see some live Tortoises or wish for good fortune.
You can also now explore St John's and Lazarus Islands on a bicycle with this bike rental. The best thing about getting your ferry tickets on Klook is that you’ll also get a free Gong Cha voucher for some bubble tea after a day out in the sun.
2. Try Paddle-Boarding at Ola Beach Club

While we might not be blessed with tall mountains to hike in Singapore, we have plenty of nature reserves and parks filled with stunning boardwalks and lush greenery to trek in.
The Southern Ridges are a series of green spaces that connect Mount Faber Park, Telok Blangah Hill, Hort Park, Kent Ridge Park and Labrador Nature Reserve. A hike here makes for great photos and will help you work up an appetite before you start loading up on all of Singapore’s hawker food again.
5. Go Kayaking among the mangroves or Biking at Pulau Ubin
Singapore’s other offshore island just off the coast of Changi is Pulau Ubin! Spend a day here cycling, trekking or kayaking! The mangroves are home to wildlife like kingfishers, hornbills, otters and some have even spotted dolphins. Go on a kayaking tour and let the experienced guide take you along the waters of this Singaporean wilderness.
Biking around Pulau Ubin is one of the best ways to see all the sights the island has to offer. But if you can’t navigate a map to save your life, you can join this biking tour that takes you through the scenic roads and tracks you might otherwise miss out on.
You’ll be led by a certified guide into the depths of Ubin to see the charming villages detached from the hubbub of city life. The route will also take you through some of the well-known sites like Chek Jawa wetlands and Ketam Quarry.
6. Conquer Obstacles at Forest Adventure
Forest Adventure at Bedok Reservoir has 44 different obstacles and 3 giant ziplines for you to spend an entire afternoon amongst the lush greens! It’s no secret that millennials are leading the charge on houseplants. But beyond caring for succulents, most of us might not really know the ins-and-outs of agriculture. To cultivate your green fingers and learn more about farming, you can take a one-hour course at an edible garden and orchid farm.
During the workshop, you’ll learn about the basics of soil care, microgreens (another name for edible plants), and how to effectively use them.

Those looking for a breather from the concrete jungle can spend a breezy Saturday morning at Ground-up Initiative, a 21st-century Singaporean kampong. The tour that’s roughly three hours long will take you and your family through a farm tour of the clean and green campus.
The tour itself comprises an hour-long sensory farm tour and some time at the kampong’s play stations which is great for the kids. You’ll also get to check out the farm’s marketplace once the activities are done where you can buy handcrafted wooden toys like an aeroplane and a boat.

13. Go Scuba Diving at Pulau Hantu
You don’t need to travel all the way to Tioman Island just to scuba dive. Pulau Hantu’s serene landscape and untouched reefs have made it one of the more well-known diving spots in Singapore. Be guided by an experienced local water divemaster for an underwater adventure. Open Water Diver Certificate is required.
14. Urban Art Trail in Little India
We know that not everyone likes adrenaline or exercising. Beyond art exhibits in air-conditioned galleries, did you know that the streets of Singapore are home to plenty of urban street art murals that are definitely worth checking out?
One of our favourite trails starts at Little India MRT station, as you head down Kerbau road, you’ll be greeted by a painting of beautiful colourful cows on bicycles. After which, head down Race Course Road and you’ll find plenty of other colourful street murals and finally end off at the House of Tan Teng Niah, a colourful Chinese villa!
