For travelers, going from one prefecture to another, this has become a treat with the ever-efficient Shinkansen bullet train. Although with last year's 70% increase of Japan Rail Japan Wide Passes, travelers now try to work their way around the hefty price tag by looking for other transportation options.

Without looking too far, tourists can make use of Point-to-Point Passes within the Shinkansen Line. This is applicable if you’re planning to do the following inter-prefecture trips:
