And with the elegance of its colonial architecture and its away-from-it-all location, you will feel like you’re on holiday in your own private estate.
Here’s everything you need to know before planning a trip to Plantation Bay Resort and Spa!
What to do
There are so many things to do and so many corners to explore that a day isn’t enough to experience everything the resort has to offer. Whether you want to be indoors or outdoors, there’s always something exciting or relaxing you can do.
Take a refreshing dip!
At the heart of the resort is its spectacular saltwater lagoon, which guests can jump right into from their room’s balcony. The 2.3-hectare lagoon is like your private tropical paradise—there’s even a small man-made island with palm trees in the middle of the lagoon! Swimming in the lagoon feels like a luxury because there’s nothing quite like it. And if you think it looks amazing in photos, wait until you see the full expanse in real life!
If you want a bit of fun in the water, the resort’s four freshwater pools feature waterslides, whirlpools, rainmakers, waterfalls, mist caves, bubble benches, and volcano fountains! Need I say more? These water features are enough to keep you in the water for the entire day!
Make a splash!
At Plantation Bay, you’ll never run out of ways to play in the water. For starters, you can rent a kayak or a stand-up paddleboard and explore the lagoon from end to end. If you’re craving adrenaline, you can satisfy it with a number of options. First, you can ride a jetski and glide through the water in style. Next, you can try out water skiing or parasailing for the first time. And of course, there’s the classic banana boat waiting for barkadas who want an exhilarating ride. Remember to hold on tight!
Soak up the sun!
If you still have time and energy left, there are plenty of outdoor sports you can play. You can test your aim at the archery range or the mini-golf course. After that, you can go wall-climbing to test your strength and determination. You can also challenge your family or friends to a friendly game of tennis, badminton, and beach or water volleyball. And if you still have time to spare, you can explore more of the resort on a bike or in one of those cool scooters. The options are endless!
Have fun indoors!
If the heat is a bit too much for you, you can still have a blast indoors. Plantation Bay’s air-conditioned game room features billiard tables, table games, and computer games perfect for gamers and titos who want to chill. There’s also an indoor firing range at Savannah Park if you want a more thrilling experience!
Where to eat
Plantation Bay has five outstanding and diverse restaurants that will tickle and satisfy your taste buds. The resort takes pride in serving consistently delicious and beautifully presented dishes at reasonable prices. Whether you’re craving Filipino, Spanish, Italian, or American cuisine, there’s a restaurant that caters to your appetite!
Kilimanjaro Kafé
Kilimanjaro Kafe is the place to eat if you want to dine with a view of the lagoon. The cafe serves international and Filipino favorites, such as Cebuano Pochero and Millionaire’s Beefsteak. They also have a special children’s menu named after some of your beloved cartoon characters, like Spongebob's Appetite (spaghetti) and Dora’s Adventure (ham and cheese pizza)! The resort’s breakfast buffet even features different culinary themes every day, so you’ll never get bored.
Fiji
For beachfront dining over fresh seafood and Japanese cuisine, head over to Fiji. Savor the salty sea breeze while you devour a sumptuous feast of Prawns Tempura (jumbo prawns), Sushi and Sashimi, and the Baja Boat, the restaurant’s signature seafood grill.
Palermo
If you want a taste of the Mediterranean during your trip to Plantation Bay, Palermo Cafe & Bar is right up your alley. Serving delicious Spanish tapas, Italian pasta, and mouth-watering steak in a romantic setting, it’s the perfect spot for date nights. Impress your partner and order the Kagoshima Wagyu Sirloin, a rich and fatty steak with the strong meaty flavor of striploin that’s heaven in every bite! Finish off with Gelato Tartufato, a chocolate-covered ice cream with a frozen surprise in the middle.
Alien Abduction
Alien Abduction is the resort’s sci-fi inspired ice cream parlor and nightclub. It’s the best spot to cool off amidst the blazing heat with their best-selling Lunar Eclipse ice cream or to slow down after a jam-packed day with a glass of wine or bottle of beer.
Route 66 Diner
Route 66 Diner is a retro American-themed restaurant that serves comfort food and breakfast classics. If you want to take a step back in time and indulge in some good ol’ American grubs, this is the place to go!
Where to relax
After a day of fun, you deserve a good pampering. Good thing Plantation Bay has an award-winning spa that will spoil you with the ultimate relaxation experience. Mogambo Springs is a Japanese-themed spa designed to look like an 18th century Tokugawa Japanese village, complete with its own waterfalls, creek, and fog-like mist. Unlike other themed spas where the decor ends at the reception area, Mogambo Springs fully commits to its theme and offers an immersive experience—from its Japanese-like gardens to the rustic decor in every treatment room.
Of course, more important than the decor are the spa facilities, which include hot pools with jacuzzi jets, cascading massage waterfalls, a thalassic pool, needle shower nook, dry sauna, and a steam room. With all these amenities, where do you even begin? You can start by taking a soothing dip in the hot pools to calm your mind and body.
Next, you can enjoy a hydro-massage from the cascading waterfalls and the needle shower nook. After that, you can head over to the dry sauna to sweat out the toxins and negativity from your body. Finally, finish off with your choice of massage or body treatment. You can choose from a wide array of therapies, including an energizing Japanese Shiatsu, a relaxing Swedish massage, or a traditional Filipino hilot, just to name a few.
