Nestled in the heart of West Malaysia's oldest rainforest, the Rest. Pause. Rainforest Retreat is a calming sanctuary for nature lovers. The tranquil retreat is located at an elevation of one thousand feet above sea level and surrounded by lush greens, thus being blessed with fresh cool air, the sounds of nature, and enchanting views of the verdant forest.

The Rest. Pause. Rainforest Retreat is a spacious villa that can fit up to 10 guests comfortably. It's perfect for short, intimate getaways with small groups of friends or family looking for a rejuvenating escape. The entire unit is airy, bright, and drenched in natural sunlight throughout the day as long as it's not raining!

The fully self-contained two-storey villa consists of 2 lounges (including a seating and dining area), 4 spacious bedrooms, ensuite bathrooms, a library filled with books, an indoor and outdoor kitchen (well-equipped with a dishwasher, fridge, oven, cooking utensils, dining cutlery, a water filter, toaster, rice cooker, and even a steamboat pot!), a peaceful garden, and even barbecue facilities.

Don't worry if you can't fully leave the digital world behind, there's also complimentary wifi (though with limited connectivity due to the location of the retreat) as well as a flat-screen TV with satellite channels and a DVD player at the space.

Our favourite part of the villa is definitely the wide wooden verandah where you can sip on a cup of coffee while overlooking the greens, meditate, practice your yoga moves, or hang out with your travel companions over great conversations.

Toiletries, towels, and hot water are available at the retreat, though there is no air-conditioning as the day-time temperature usually ranges between 22 - 28 degree celsius, dipping to as low as 16 degrees celsius at night! Be sure to pack a jacket if you're afraid of the cold, but otherwise, the weather here is nice, chilly, and refreshing as compared to in the city.

Embark on a movie marathon with the flat-screen TV and DVD player at the villa! Choose your preferred film from 100 DVDs provided at the space - you can also bring your own favourite movies over and watch them while curled up on the cosy couch. You'll also find a selection of board and card games at the place such as UNO, congkak, poker cards, Monopoly, and even chess.

Enjoy a barbeque dinner underneath the twinkling night sky. The Rest. Pause. Rainforest Retreat comes with a home-made BBQ pit and outdoor viewing deck where you can enjoy a great meal with your loved ones. Charcoal and BBQ equipment are provided for guests upon request, but you'll have to prepare the other meal ingredients yourself. Preparations can be done at the villa as the kitchen is well-equipped with cooking utensils and appliances, as well as simple seasonings like salt, soy sauce, pepper, sugar, and oil!

The tranquil surroundings of the retreat makes it a perfect spot to catch up with your reading, especially for those who have a tendency to be distracted while reading. Bring your own book or pick one from the extensive range of books available at the villa library. The retreat is filled with cosy corners great for reading - our personal favourites are the verandah and the lounge area!

It'll be a waste to stay indoors throughout your stay at the retreat. Instead, head out for a nature walk in the early morning or late evening and you'll get the chance to encounter interesting wildlife (hornbills, monkeys, and even wild boars!), plants, and trees that may awe you. There's also a little stream close to the retreat that's perfect for a refreshing dip. The stream is shallow and slow-moving, making it great for splashing around even for your little ones.

Located in the gated community of Tanarimba in Janda Baik, Pahang, the Rest. Pause. Rainforest Retreat is an easy 40-minute drive from Kuala Lumpur. Private parking is available at the retreat.

The retreat is not too far from Genting Highlands and Bukit Tinggi (approximately 30 minutes drive) - many guests pop over for a day trip when they're in the area!
