Gardens by the Bay Sakura 2022—Cherry Blossoms Display With Tokidoki Theme
We can’t travel to Japan just yet but fret not, a trip to Garden by the Bay’s annual cherry blossom event is a great way to enjoy sakura in Singapore! Be transported to Japan as you stroll through the gorgeous display featuring cherry blossoms, peach blossoms, and a myriad of other Japanese themed decorations including iconic torii gates, marumado (Japanese circular windows) as well as Koinobori (Japanese carp streamers).
Don’t forget the tokidoki theme, which features kawaii guests tokidoki Unicornos, SANDy and Donutella. Needless to say this event is the perfect place for countless photo ops with beautiful blooms and cute characters!

Cherry Blossoms and Peach Blossoms
Spring has sprung! Enjoy the ephemeral pink blooms in their full glory and take as many photos as you wish! Just remember not to touch the flowers as they can be very fragile.
Fun Fact: Did you know that the difference between Cherry blossoms and peach blossoms is that the former has multiple petals while the latter only has 5 petals?
#Klooktip: In order to preserve the blooms in their best condition, the flower dome is maintained at a very cool temperature so pack a light jacket or shawl!
Tokidoki at Gardens by the Bay
Tokidoki is featured for the very first time in Flower Dome this year! Meet the cutest tokidoki characters as your meander your way through the Flower Dome, including the magical unicornos, SANDy from Cactus Friends and Donutella are also enjoying the springtime hanami season. Can you spot them?

Japanese Decorations
Besides marvelling at the cherry blossoms and stopping for pics with the tokidoki characters, Sakura at Gardens by the Bay this year also features Japanese decoration and elements that will make you feel like you've set foot in Japan.
Torii Gates
Torii Gates are traditional Japanese gates usually located at the entrance of shrines. It signals an entrance into a religious sacred space. These iconic orange gates are located around the flower dome for your photos!
Marumado and Wagasa at tokidoki marquee
You will find the marumado (Japanese circular windows) in the middle of the cherry blossom fields. Gaze through each of the marumado at the tokidoki marquee and enjoy the various scenic sights of the blooms on display. Look up and you will also be able to admire the colourful wagasa hanging from above, Japanese umbrellas that were once used to shelter and protect members of the imperial family.
You will also see examples of furoshiki, which are squares of cloth used to store and wrap items as well as koinobori, a display of vibrant carp streamers on display. There are other sakura-related events and workshops that are also happening, such as a tea ceremony, ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement) as well as Japanese folk dance.
