    1. SEA LIFE Sydney

    Since we can’t quite make it to the Great Barrier Reef this school holidays, the next best would be to get up close and face-to-fin with SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium’s iconic wonders to learn all about the underwater world!
    The SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium has 14 themed zones, 13,000 marine animals and more than 700 species, including 2 out of only 6 dugongs (marine mammals related to the manatee) in the world! Meet Pig the Dugong:
    The different zones provide something for everyone to enjoy - The Day & Night on the Reef zone is the centre’s newest attraction and provides interactive experiences for the whole family. They have also recently revamped their rock pool so the little ones can come and meet the new itty-bitty creatures that call this home.

    Rain or shine, WILD LIFE Sydney is a great destination for kids because it’s indoors, and is very easy to get to! Attend informative talks with the children to learn all about local wildlife, do some animal feeding, and meet kangaroos, wombats, emus, platypuses and even crocodiles. 
    We’ve also got some special news - there are four new kangaroos that will be joining the Kangaroo Walkabout, so make sure you hop down and meet them!

    The kids can also get up-close and personal with celebrities and feel like an absolute A-lister, or even live life like royalty for a day and take pics with the royal family to show off to friends and family after!

    5. Illawarra Fly Treetop Walk

    Looking for a perfect day trip from Sydney with the kids? You’ll love Illawarra Fly - home to Australia’s incredible Treetop Walk experience, which is a breezy 1.5km loop track with 500 metres of elevated steel walkway through the treetops. 
    The highlight of the walk is definitely the Knights Tower, a spiral tower that goes up a breathtaking 45m above ground, so you can catch the most spectacular panoramic views of the rainforest canopy and all the way out to the Pacific Ocean too!

    Getting there - 
    By car: travel down the Hume Highway and take the Bowral turn-off, then drive through the lovely Southern Highlands to Robertson and follow the signs from the Famous Robertson Pie Shop or travel down the picturesque Grand Pacific Drive – take the Illawarra Hwy (Macquarie Pass) towards Robertson. Turn left at the ‘famous’ Robertson Pie Shop onto Jamberoo Mountain Road. Travel 10 kms and turn left at Knights Hill Road

    6. Whale Watching

    Always wanted to witness the gentle giants of the sea during their annual migration?
    It’s not too late! You can still go hop aboard a catamaran and go whale watching with both indoor and outdoor viewing to make sure you get the best view possible.
    Captain Cook also offers a whale guarantee - which means you can cruise again in the same season for free (subject to availability) should you not spot a whale during the cruise, but with over 30,000 whales making the trip, you should be in luck!
