    Little India is one of Singapore’s most vibrant and lively districts; and in a place as vibrant as Singapore, that’s really saying something. A walk along its streets will blast you with both Indian and Chinese restaurants, and culture.
    We encourage you to visit this lively section of Singapore’s overall busy streets, and explore the various things to do, and of course, places to eat.

    1. Sakunthala’s Food Palace

    Sakunthala’s is a Singaporean classic and has cemented itself in the country’s food industry for many years.
    They serve both Indian and Chinese cuisine, providing homestyle delicious and savory meals that’s sure to make your mouth water.
    They have 6 locations in Singapore to date, and even provide catering for those that just can’t get enough of their food!

    2. Khansama Tandoori

    This restaurant specializes in Indian cuisine prepared in a tandoor oven. As such they also offer a lot of traditional Indian breads like naan and roti.
    They have a vegetarian menu perfect for our more green lovers out there, but there are also meat options that you can enjoy.
    If you’re looking to really try traditional Indian cuisine, this is a place you have to add to your Singapore itinerary.

    3. Swee Choon Tim Sum Restaurant

    Craving for dim sum? Well we know where to get some! From dumplings to egg rolls and egg tarts, there’s a ton of scrumptious food to try at this quaint little joint.
    Being around since 1962, this restaurant in Little India Singapore has recently cemented itself as one of the most well known dimsum places when you’re in town. 
    Oh and they also happen to be open till 6 AM. Yay cravings!

    4. Gayatri Restaurant

    Gayatri serves traditional North and South Indian dishes in a very modern dining setting.
    The whole atmosphere of the place is cozy, and is a great place to have dinner with family and loved ones.
    It has an overall homey feel, from the aesthetics of the place, to the style of cooking on their dishes. We think you’d enjoy having this on your Singapore itinerary next time you visit.

    5. Putien

    If you’re looking for something different and authentic, Putien might be more to your taste.
    Another Singaporean classic, this award-winning restaurant offers authentic Chinese cuisine, with different meal sets having various dishes.
    Did we mention award-winning? That’s right this restaurant won multiple awards, including a michelin star. Add to that, they have locations all around Asia. Safe to say they know their stuff.

    6. Banana Leaf Apolo

    Banana Leaf in Little India Singapore is another classic restaurant that tourists should check out.
    They serve a variety of Indian dishes, from tandoori, to chicken, to more vegetarian options. We recommend trying out their signature dish, the fish head curry.
    They’re named as such because they serve their food on banana leaves, a common practice done in India.

    7. Greenleaf Cafe

    If green is more your color, this place should fit you. Known as the only herbal vegetarian restaurant in Singapore, this place takes eating your greens very seriously.
    They have a serious focus on providing delicious but also nutritious vegetarian dishes. With a strong belief in the benefits of a vegetarian diet, and their tasty meals, everyone should try this healthy cafe.

    If you’re looking to really immerse yourself in Indian cuisine, you’re going to have to go a little bare…foot.
    Lagnaa is definitely a restaurant you’ll want to include in your Singapore itinerary. The concept of this little bistro is simple; you’re invited to take off your shoes, sit on the floor, and enjoy delicious Indian dishes. In other words, THE DREAM.
    It’s the perfect place to seek refuge in, in the hustle and bustle of the city. It just also happens to be a Michelin star-awarded restaurant. Neat, right?
