Mandarin Oriental Singapore Review
It’s easy to see how staycations may be perceived as a “couple” activity, but in fact staycations can be for everyone!
We sent lifestyle personality @bellywellyjelly (Bel) on a BFF weekend getaway with her best friend of more than twenty years - Chelsea! Read on to check out what they got up to.
We caught up with Bel on a livestream recently! View the Mandarin Oriental Staycay Queen live on the @klooksg Facebook page.

The Location
Mandarin Oriental is located right next to Marina Square and accessible via a direct walkway. It is also in the vicinity of Suntec City Mall and a 10-min walk from City Hall MRT Station.
The Marina Bay View Room
Spacious and with amazing views, the rooms at Mandarin Oriental are nothing short of luxurious! The Marina Bay View Room, as its name suggests, comes with a panoramic view of the Marina Bay harbour where you’ll be able to spot Marina Bay Sands, the Esplanade and the Singapore Flyer!
Bel was pleasantly surprised to find her room filled with balloons - the perfect start to a BFF weekend!

The Mandarin Oriental Pool
The pool at the Mandarin Oriental is a highlight for sure! The prime location of the hotel means you get a bird’s eye view of multiple Singapore landmarks and a nice view of the sunset as well!
Due to safe distancing measures, you need to make a booking in order to use the pool. Each room is allocated a maximum of 2 hours per day and you can make your booking during check-in or from your room.
Bel captured these photos at 6pm! You can aim to make your booking at this time for the best chance of capturing golden hour shots.
Dolce Vita - Poolside Restaurant
Everyone loves dining by the pool! Dolce Vita is Mandarin Oriental’s own Italian fusion restaurant located right next to the swimming pool. Relaxing and chill, opt to dine al fresco for gorgeous views of the city skyline.
Lunch and dinner is served at Dolce Vita. Do call ahead to make reservations!
MO Bar - Asia’s 50 Best Bars
Mandarin Oriental is home to MO Bar - awarded one of Asia’s 50 Best Bars for 2020! Expect lush carpets and cosy lounges that make you feel right at home.
The menu at MO Bar is an experience in itself. Organized by the strength of the drink from light to heavy - the drinks follow a ‘journey’ detailed in the menu. Customers will also be able to find what they’re after at a glance, depending on what they feel like having at the moment!
Bel ordered The Elixir - a light, refreshing concoction of gin, calamansi and Makrut lime while Chelsea ordered the aesthetic Harvest Queen containing Agricole (a type of rum), apple, guava and an ornate printed rice paper topper. The rice topper is 100% edible but be warned - you may get some funky coloured teeth in the process! With drinks so creative, it’s easy to see why this bar’s won a spot on the coveted list of Asia’s best bars.
MELT Cafe - Nasi lemak breakfast ala carte buffet
They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day and it certainly is when you’re at a staycay! While breakfast buffets have been put on hold with safe distancing measures in place, customers can still enjoy a sumptuous ala carte breakfast buffet at MELT Cafe.
From nasi lemak to Belgian waffles, you’ll get to choose as many breakfast options as you like from the menu! Talk about being spoiled for choice!
Bel went for the local breakfast with nasi lemak while Chelsea went for a continental breakfast. Both options look amazing, which do you prefer?
