Watching your first Spurs home game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as a fan!
Being a fan of European football, it's always a dream to catch my favourite team live at their home stadium, especially so, when I'm living half a world away in Asia.
And as you can guess by the title of this article, we can't be happier for our South Korean colleague, Tony as he finally ticked off his long-standing bucket list dream of watching his beloved Spurs play live at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium!
Read on for his in-depth review of his matchday experience and find out how you can get tickets to catch your favourite English Premier League teams play at home too.
Getting to White Hart Lane
One of the best ways to travel around Lonon is via The London Underground, and that is also one of the fastest ways to get to Tottenham Stadium. Located in a fairly remote area outside of downtown London, it is quite common to be unsure or confused about how to get to Tottenham Stadium.
But no matter where you depart from in London during matchday, you'll be able to see fellow supporters donning the Spurs jersey at the train station, and it's no surprise where they're heading. So tag along and you'll soon be on your way to the stadium.
Or, you can just alight at White Hart Lane station 😀
Tony's heart was literally pounding out of his chest throughout the walk to the stadium together with many fellow supporters!
#KlookTip: For those wanting to purchase jerseys or souvenirs, Tony recommends arriving about 2-3hr earlier than the game time. If you really get caught up in souvenir shopping, time will fly by and your wallet will soon be empty, with the first whistle approaching quickly!
Visiting the stadium's gift shop
While planning to only buy one jersey, Tony's shopping bag was filled with mufflers, hats, two jerseys, and even badges 😅.
If you buy too much, it can take a long time for baggage inspection when entering the stadium. So, Tony recommends buying only what you really want pre-match and buying the rest after the match ends. And here's another great #KlookTip!
For all the Sonny (Son Heung-min) fans out there looking to get his jersey, it's better to avoid end-of-season games as his jerseys are really popular and they would have already been sold out, not only the home kits but even the away kits too. So after wandering around for a long time Tony finally found a Son away kit 🥲.
Not only for Son but all sizes of Harry Kane's home kit were also sold out (having an away kit is better than nothing)! After browsing for a while, it was already close to match time, so Tony had to go up without being late.
#KlookFunFact: The tickets Tony bought directly from Tottenham's official website are the same type as the tickets sold on Klook!
Pre-match hospitality at Tottenham Stadium
With the type of tickets Tony got, simple finger foods were available in a buffet style before the match started, and drinks were even provided during halftime! Just by catching the match, Tony's stomach was already full, but thanks to the delicious food and beer, he also consumed an extra amount of happiness 🤩.
Opened in 2019, Tottenham Stadium is such a state-of-the-art stadium that it doesn't matter where you choose to sit because the seats are all well-constructed. You will be able to see the players running no matter where you sit.
Besides the players, Tony also managed to catch a glimpse of Tottenham's Chairman, Daniel Levy, whose popularity has been rising due to his efforts to strengthen the team for the 2022-23 season.
Matchday experience against Burnley F.C.
The overall experience of the facilities and services at the stadium is so good that even if you are not a die-hard football fan, if you are planning a trip to the UK, Tony highly recommends going on a stadium tour or even watching a match at Tottenham Stadium!
Finally, the game ended 1-0 with a Harry Kane penalty! After the final whistle, Tony saw Son Heung-min staying until the end to sign autographs for fans, and he realized that's why Son is so loved by his fans.
Post-match experience at the stadium
Until being stopped by the club officials, Sonny signed autographs for both Korean fans who had come from afar and local fans too! Now we know why so many South Koreans support Tottenham!
With the 2022-23 season well underway bringing with it many ups and downs and surprises, nothing will be certain this season with title races and Champions League spots being decided right down to the wire!
P.s. Tottenham is currently 4th in the League, so now's the time to give them some support!
