    Universal Studios Beijing Set To Open In 2021

    The coronavirus pandemic has put a halt on many industries and projects in 2020, but the construction of the fifth and largest Universal Studios theme park did not slow down. Despite a brief halt to construction work when the pandemic outbreak was at large in China last year, the building schedule got back on track quickly after and progressed smoothly throughout the year.

    Universal Beijing announced in a press release on 31 December 2020 that all major construction at the theme park has been completed and that they are ready to open their doors as scheduled in May 2021! Final preparation works are now focused on refining the interior details of various themed settings, rides and facilities testing, digital system implementation, and more.
    They have also begin casting for entertainment talent and will begin conducting training as well as rehearsals over the next few months. All hands are on deck to refine and perfect the overall guest experience as they gear towards the highly-anticipated grand opening this spring!

    What We Know About The Largest Universal Studios Thus Far

    Universal Beijing Resort will be the fifth and largest Universal Studios in the world, and will be 5 times bigger than Universal Studios Singapore. The resort will be home to seven themed lands built around a central lake, the Universal Beijing CityWalk shopping and entertainment district, as well as two extraordinary hotels (including the first-ever Universal-themed resort hotel) ready to welcome visitors from all over the world.
    Just like the other Universal Studios theme parks across the globe, Universal Beijing Resort will bring some of the most beloved films' and pop culture's most compelling stories and characters to life.

    The seven exciting themed lands that have been unveiled include the first Kung Fu Panda Land of Awesomeness in Asia, the second Hogwarts Castle in Asia (like the one in Universal Studios Japan), as well as the largest Minion Land in the world!

    Each land in the theme park will contain its own themed rides, pulse-pounding immersive experiences, shows with live performances and interactive sets, themed merchandise shops, as well as a great collection of restaurants. The range of experiences within the theme park is expected to be expansive and beyond the limits of imagination.

    Get ready to fight alongside Autobots in the Transformers Metrobase, go on a Kung Fu adventure with Po in Universal's first Kung Fu Panda-themed land, interact with mischievous Minions, stroll through Hogsmeade with a mug of Butterbeer, and explore four unique zones filled with interactive adventures in the Jurassic World Isla Nublar! Guests will also get to marvel at stunning shows featuring world-renowned directors - Zhang Yimou and Steven Spielberg.
