Prepare to be inspired by the story of how Walt Elias Disney, an animator and film producer who grew up from a family trying to make ends meet, became a successful pioneer in the cartoon industry.
The Walt Disney Family Museum explores the life and legacy of the legendary Walt Disney, and the journey it took for the success of Walt Disney Studios to be what it is today. His success even earned him a custom Oscar award statue inspired by the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs animated film!
Other interesting things you get to see are his apartment furniture back in the good 'ol days, real sketch drafts from animated films, items from live action films, and cool machinery like the multiplane camera, which is responsible for transforming drawings into life.
Real Disney fans would be stoked to see display bits of Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color (color is how the show was spelled, so can't change to British spelling "colour"), which was a show originally hosted by the man himself! Speaking of, The Walt Disney Family Museum also gives you a glimpse of the early stages of the Walt Disney World theme parks and mini-sized versions of all of them so you can take a good look from a bird's eye view.
And if you're still confused about the difference between Disneyland vs Walt Disney World, check out our guide. Walt Disney World is in Orlando, while the former is in California.
#KlookTip: If you're going on a SanFo vacay, this is just one of the nine attractions included in our Klook San Francisco city pass! So, if you plan on hitting up other famous tourist spots in the area, check it out to save on admission fees.
You can also purchase tickets to watch a Mary Poppins screening in the museum, which runs daily (except Tuesdays) at 14:00.

We reckon you can easily spend about two to three hours going through the entire museum. Factor in an additional hour if you wanna hit up the Museum Cafe to sip on a cuppa coffee or munch on some chips, and get Disney merch from their gift shop, too! Who can't resist leaving without some Disney goodies, right?
#KlookTip: You can't take the food and bev (except bottled water) with you inside, so you're better off heading to the cafe either before or after you make your rounds in the museum.
