The Funicular was always full. It was too crowded. But still, it's was fun. The area is huge. Half day wouldn't be enough if you want to explore every corner.

the fansipan experience was worth it tho its so cold, we had fun going there and luckily the monorail is open again and we were able to ride on it.

You should buy the ticket with the three rides as it will save you a lot of effort going up Fansipan. It also includes the use of cable car and monorail going down and back to Sa Pa Main Station.
