Orlando might be famous for being home to the happiest place on earth - Walt Disney World, obvs! - but there’s so much more to Florida’s jewel than Epcot, Magic Kingdom and the other ten theme parks!
Orlando is one of the most popular destinations for families from around the world because there’s so much on offer for all types of interests! If you want to take a look and see for yourself, be our guest!
But if your time’s tight, we wanted to help you out with a quick overview of all the magic that Orlando has to offer!
Enjoy!
Kennedy Space Centre For anyone who’s looked up at the stars in the sky, trying to grasp the sheer enormousness (is that a word??) of space and the universe (before eventually giving up and watching Independence Day for the fifteenth time!), we get it. Space is the biggest question mark and we want answers as much as you do!
Luckily, we don’t have to wait for Independence Day 3 - astronomical aficionados can go looking for answers at the best possible place, and you don’t need to travel 238,900 miles to get there! We’re obviously talking about the world famous, Kennedy Space Center!
The KSC is NASA’s primary launch centre for human spaceflight, and while most of the 144-acre complex isn’t open to the public, there’s a Visitor Complex which features exhibits and displays, historic spacecraft and memorabilia, shows, two IMAX theatres, and a range of tours of the spaceport.
There are a few different experiences you can have when seeing KSC for yourself, starting with the 1-day visitor pass. And if that wasn’t enough, you can even why not try out the full Astronaut training experience, which includes a microgravity simulator and spacewalk training! Rest assured, this is an out-of-this-world experience like no other.
Dine with an astronaut Or if you prefer to get a court-side seat to the action (rather than being suited up and sent up into the skies and beyond), then why not hear about the space experience first hand by dining with an astronaut? You’ll hear first-hand stories of space exploration while you enjoy lunch in the Kennedy Space Center, where the food isn’t the only thing that’s out of this world!
Gatorland Florida is famous for its ‘gators, and the (not-so) cryptically named ‘Gatorland’ is home not only to thousands of crocodiles and alligators, but also snakes, tortoises, exotic birds and wild cats! With plenty of fun for the family, you’d be mad to miss out on seeing the wildest of Florida’s wildlife all in one place, so think fast and ’snap’ up your Gatorland ticket on Klook and you can run the Gator Gauntlet zip line over the heads of 130 giant alligators!
Or try your hand (not literally!) at feeding them during Adventure Hour in the Breeding Marsh. Feeling brave? ‘Snap’ (sorry - it’s just too good-a-pun!) a selfie a few feet from these prehistoric creatures. Just remember to smile at the camera – not a crocodile!
If you’re a sucker for a bargain, then the Go Orlando Explorer Pass will get you entry to Gatorland and up to four other attractions, depending on which option you select. Choose your ticket (3, 4 or 5 ticket options) and then pick from 17 amazing attractions in total, including the Sea Life Aquarium and the Orlando Eye.
Magic Hoops If you’d prefer something a little more ‘grounded’, then you can get into the local way of life with a trip to see the local basketball team, Orlando Magic, working their...well, magic! Book your NBA tickets and enjoy an NBA experience like no other as you cheer them on through epic match-ups in the Amway Center against the likes of the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks! And there’s not just basketball on display - in classic American fashion, there’s a whole host of extras at Fan Fest (at select games) including music, entertainment, giveaways and interactive games to keep fans of all ages loving the pre-game and half-time performances!
Wonderworks For more family fun, book yourself in for a day where education meets entertainment at WonderWorks! This 1-day ticket gives you access to over a hundred of WonderWorks’ interactive, activities. Visit the many Wonder Zones including Space Discovery, Natural Disasters, Light and Sound Zone, Far Out Art Gallery and the Imagination Lab.
Or if a physical challenge is more your kind of thing, you’ll also get a chance enjoy the Glow-In-The-Dark Ropes course where you can test your strength and skill in navigating the course! This is a perfect trip for the whole family to enjoy.
These are just a few of the wonders Orlando offers, but if, like the crocs and gators, you’re hungry for more, just check out the Orlando home page on Klook and start planning your next adventure...
