1. Volcanoes National Park
Here’s something to tick off your bucket list! Visiting Hawaii attractions like Volcanoes National Park will give you the experience of a lifetime by getting close to active volcanoes. By active, we mean you’ll see actual lava flowing out from the volcano’s fissures. Don’t worry! When a volcano is in a period of seismic activity that might threaten visitors, necessary restrictions are applied.
2. Mauna Kea
While Hawaii is known for its sunshiny days and beaches, its night sky is a stunning view you won’t want to miss! Mauna Kea, one of the world’s best astronomical observation points, offers a clear view of the skies as it is the highest mountain on the Big Island in Hawaii. Watch the blue skies reflect awe-striking orange hues as the sun sets. We recommend that you stay through the night to see the dark skies glimmer with little sparks of light as the stars appear—one of the most relaxing and best things to do in Hawaii!
3. Waikiki
There are lotsa things to do in Hawaii, but can you really say you’ve been there if you didn’t step foot in Waikiki? This Waikiki trolley pass will allow you to ride the iconic orange double-decker bus in the neighborhood. Riding an open-air trolley is also possible if you want to feel the summer breeze. The Waikiki trolley will pass by 3 different routes to get to the island’s most famous attractions that you won’t want to miss: Diamond Head Crater, Iolani Palace, and Sandy Beach. Feel free to hop on and off whenever you want to; just keep your pass close!
4. Umauma Falls
Feel like you’re Mowgli from The Jungle Book during this exhilarating zipline experience in Umauma Falls—something to definitely tick off in your Hawaii tourist activities checklist! It will be a thrilling 30-mile journey where you get a good view of the river water and hear the beautiful sound of nature as you zip through the Hawaiian jungle. You’ll pass by 18 waterfalls, including the Umauma Falls, so keep your eyes peeled for that! While you’re at it, try to spot the native Hawaiian hawk in the area named ‘I’o’.
5. Big Island
Ever wondered what it’s like to go snorkeling at night? Wonder no more! Make sure to place snorkeling on the Big Island under your list of things to do in Hawaii! Swim with manta rays that are so lovely and calm! So much so that you can treat this activity as a date between you and these pleasant creatures under the moonlight.
6. Kualoa Ranch
Craving for more thrilling things to do in your Hawaii vacation? Ride your way through Hawaii’s Kualoa Ranch! This ATV Raptor experience will take you to witness the beauty of this private nature reserve, like deep and scenic valleys. Drive through streams and mud since that makes this experience extra fun. Don’t forget to take as many photos and videos as possible, for this will surely be a memory worth looking back on!
