Explore the charming streets and the beauty of their traditional gassho-style farmhouses with their distinctive thatched roof. You’ll immediately understand why this small village was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It is especially charming in winter when the entire village is blanketed in heavy snow. On selected days during the wintertime, special illumination events are organized by the village where many of the houses in Ogimachi are lit up during the evening from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
