Meetup time is 8:15 in Formosa Blvd Station Exit 11. Doris our tour guide was considerate enough to wait for the last participant. She tried to contact him/her but to no avail so we proceeded with the tour at around 8:35. We were only 3 in the group (supposed to be 4) but the operator did not cancel so I was able to enjoy Kaohsiung attractions!. Fo Guang Shan is a bit far from city center so its convinient with tour.

Luckily we are able to explore Kaohsiung before the typhoon hit the city. Our tour guide Mr. Charlie is well versed in English and shared bits and pieces of information about Kaohsiung. This tour is highly recommended for people who wants to see the city explore museums, temples and enjoying the view. Mr. Charlie is conversant both in Mandarin and English he arrives on time and very friendly too.

This extraordinary tour with Charlie was a highlight of my journey. From the moment he picked me up at the train station until he graciously dropped me off at the airport, every detail was meticulously taken care of. The personal attention I received was unparalleled. Throughout the day, we explored numerous remarkable sites, and Charlie expertly customized the itinerary to align perfectly with my interests. He also captured wonderful photos of me, adding a special touch to an already memorable experience.

Mr. Charlie is a passionate tour guide and an expert on the history of Kaohsiung and Taiwan. I think he can even become a university instructor if he wants. Learned a lot from him and he's full of energy! I remembered interesting stuff about the industry of Taiwan, the history of Formosa, ate in a classic diner (70 yrs old). Heee's so generous! He treat us with famous Boba Tea and some moon cakes! You should look for him if you're doing a tour on Kaohsiung!!!! Special shout out to Mr and Mrs Ashin, the wonderful couple and my friends from Japan! Hopefully I can visit in Hokkaido next year July!!!
