Nijo Castle is a famous castle in Kyoto, Japan, that used to be home to the Tokugawa shoguns. It was built in the early 1600s by Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu. One of the best parts to see inside is the Ninomaru Palace, known for its beautiful wall paintings and "nightingale floors" that make chirping sounds when you walk on them to warn guards of intruders. But there's more! When you visit Nijo Castle, make sure to check out the Ninomaru Garden. It's a gorgeous garden with a big pond and carefully arranged rocks. The Honmaru Palace and the rest of the castle grounds are also fascinating, giving you a peek into the grand life of feudal Japan. Surrounding the castle is a wide moat and huge stone walls, which make it look even more impressive. There are also two traditional tea houses where you can enjoy a real Japanese tea ceremony. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Nijo Castle hosts various cultural events and exhibitions throughout the year. Visiting this Japanese castle offers a unique opportunity to step back in time and learn about an important part of Japan's history.

Interesting museum filled to the brim with manga! Each corner you turn, you can always find a shelf chock-full of manga. Nice outside patio setting if you want to read outside too! Came here specifically for the Ryoko Kui exhibition, did not disappoint!

Great way to get around. Note that during a day you would only be able to visit 5 places at most(if you don’t want to rush) so if time permits and you want to visit more places- consider 2 day pass.

The performance is very compact and good for a fixed-length drama. Overall, the entertainment is not as good as Nanta Show. However, the rhythm of the Japanese plot is different and it is worth experiencing.

I really recommend it!! I got the subway pass pick-up place wrong and was 30 minutes late, but they didn't say anything and kindly guided me. There were many kinds of yukatas, and the staff were very professional, so it only took 30 minutes to put on the yukata and do my hair. They also did my hair really nicely and fixed it well, so it didn't get messy even though I ran around all day. They also provided everything from the yukata to hair accessories, bags, and clogs, without any additional charges, within the amount I paid, and they even gave me a plastic bag to put my shoes in. Also, when I said I wanted to change the color of my obi, they untied my original obi and replaced it with the new color, even though it was a hassle. The staff were so kind and professional that I felt good even before the trip started, and thanks to them, I was able to take a lot of pretty pictures throughout the trip! Next time I go to Kyoto, I will rent a yukata here. I highly recommend this place for yukata rentals!!

I came with my mom and rented a summer kimono. It was done very well and was very pretty. They also rented parasols, bags, and traditional shoes. 👍
