Things to do in Ta Van Village

The tour was well organized, lunch set has a variety of different dishes for each day. For those who want to choose the 5-star hotel option, be noted that the 5-star hotel is quite a bit further from the town center and main square compared to the 3-star hotel. Our tour guide Chải was very intuitive. We got an incident while visiting Lao Chai Village (a buffalo pushed one of our family members down a rice field, as a result his pants and shoes were mudded quite a bit), and Chải helped us out immediately and she helped washing the shoes as well as the pants. Our driver from and to Hanoi was also very friendly and intuitive. On our day back to Hanoi, we booked a hotel that was a bit outside of Phố Cổ, but the driver still made sure to drop us off as close to the hotel as possible.

It's been a wonderful experience, the tour was organised, accommodation and food was above my expectations.

Sapa is an absolute gem! Nestled in the stunning mountains of northern Vietnam, it offers breathtaking views, lush greenery, and a peaceful atmosphere that's hard to beat. The terraced rice fields, coupled with the rich culture of the ethnic minority groups, create a truly unique experience. Whether you're trekking through the hills, visiting local villages, or just soaking in the natural beauty, there's always something captivating to discover. The local people are incredibly warm and welcoming, adding to the charm of the area. Sapa is a perfect blend of adventure and tranquility, making it an unforgettable destination for nature lovers and cultural enthusiasts alike. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed visiting Sapa for 2 nights from Hanoi though the weather was pretty cold 🥶 and extremely foggy. On Day 1, got picked up from my Hanoi hotel at 6.30 am and reached Sapa at 1 pm. After lunch, checked into 5 star KK hotel and in the afternoon visited Cat Cat Village. On Day2: Visited Fansipan Mountain in the morning and Lao Chai village in the afternoon. On Day3: Visited Ham Rong Mountain ⛰️ in the morning but no view because of extremely foggy weather. After lunch, return to Hanoi by bus.

All family were enjoyed very well with all things in Sapa.....

This trip is perfect for those who enjoy safe, walkable trekking but not for those interested in renting traditional costumes, as the focus is on exploring. But I recommend this tour if you want to think or work less about accommodations for hotel, shuttles, transport. The limousine bus/DCAR van was very comfortable, with only 7 passengers, and the tour guide was accommodating and shared insights about local culture. Day 1: • 6-hour ride from Hanoi to Sapa with 2 toilet stops (15-30 minutes each), followed by a provided lunch. • Afternoon trek to Cat Cat Village (~2–3 hours), featuring scenic stairs, Traditonal shops, rental shops, coffee shops, waterfalls, and a man-made village. Return to the hotel on foot or via shuttle (with long wait times). Day 2: • Breakfast with meal options, then a shuttle and cable car ride to Fansipan Mountain (tickets booked via Klook by ourselves for a discount and additional peak rail tickets bought (to reach the peak instead of walking around 18-25k steps in the cold)) on the spot due to time constraints for shuttle pick up. Then lunch was provided at the hotel. • Took the rail to the mountain peak for quick photos. Afternoon trek to Lao Chai Tavan Village for about 3-4 hours (mostly rice terraces, with the actual village visible from afar). Local tribe members assisted during the trekk and tried to sell handmade goods aftwards. Van pick-up after trekk. Day 3: • Light breakfast buffet, but we skipped Ham Rong Mountain due to fog, and visited Moana Sapa (“Little Bali” Instagram spot with tickets paid by ourselves). • Lunch at the hotel, then a comfortable ride back to Hanoi. A well-organized, cultural trip with beautiful views and lots of walking! Other exciting things I recommend not included here would be the Glass Bridge, and the Sapa Coaster Ride.

The tour guide was friendly and very familiar with this tourist hotspot. A professional tour guide took care of us along the way. Of course, we have to mention the service quality of the hotel, including the managers and staff. Their enthusiastic and selfless help made our trip enjoyable.

Hanrong Mountain doesn’t have many attractions or pick-up and drop-off times, so I didn’t grasp it well! The Cat Village is pretty good, but there may be more pick-up and drop-off trips, otherwise your legs will be weak!
