Visiting Tokyo Disneyland for the first time? We’ve got you. Here’s everything you need to know about Tokyo Disneyland—tickets, attractions, the works—so you’d have the most fun inside the happiest place on Earth. This is your ultimate guide to Tokyo Disneyland!
What is Tokyo Disneyland?
Did you know: Tokyo Disneyland is the first Disney theme park outside of the United States? This fab theme park opened in 1983 and was modelled after Disneyland California and the Magic Kingdom in Florida!
It’s part of the Tokyo Disney Resort, also home to another fantastic Disney theme park: the Tokyo DisneySea! So, if you can’t get enough of the thrills and frills inside Tokyo Disneyland, you can head to the nearby Tokyo DisneySea for its own brand of Disney charm.
Where can I book tickets?
Can’t wait to get your hands on Tokyo Disneyland tickets? Hit two birds with one stone with Klook! You can book a convenient one-day or two-day passport to Tokyo Disney Resort and get to both theme parks without having to book separate tickets.
How much is a Disneyland ticket in Japan?
A Tokyo Disneyland ticket or one-day passport costs JPY 7,900 to 9,400 for adults. For juniors aged 12-17, passport prices range from JPY 6,600 to 7,800, while tickets for kids aged 4-11 cost JPY 4,700 to 5,600. Three-year-olds and younger can enter Tokyo Disneyland for free.
Things to do in Tokyo Disneyland
Feeling excited to step into the most magical place on Earth? We all know attraction queues can’t be dodged (unless you get a FastPass), but if you’re on a budget, make sure to know which are the crowd-favourite rides, so you can up your queueing game! Trust us—these rides are worth lining up for!
A fan of rollercoasters? Two of the most popular rides inside Tokyo Disneyland are Space Mountain, which makes you fly through the galaxy at high speeds, and the Big Thunder Mountain, where you escape the Wild West on a runaway mine train.
Prepare to be amazed when you go on Pooh’s Hunny Hunt! It’s by far the best dark ride attraction when it comes to tech facto. You ride on a moving Hunny Pot, but there’s a twist: you move along a trackless path as you get surrounded by elaborate animatronic figures of Christopher Robin’s friends!
Another dark ride attraction that people line up for in Tokyo Disneyland is Monsters, Inc. Ride and Go Seek! Join Boo, Sully, and Mike as they play hide-and-seek in this interactive ride. You’ll even get a flashlight to spot hidden monsters as you ride through offices and rooms inside Monsters, Inc.’s scare factory!
Of course, a Disney theme park isn’t complete without its vibrant shows, and Tokyo Disneyland has its fair share of must-see performances. At Let’s Party Gras, you’ll see Donald Duck and Goofy singing and dancing to merry Latin tunes. Take note that tickets for this show are via lottery, so head to Tomorrowland Hall before the show starts.
There’s also the typical and fan-favourite daytime parade, Dreaming Up! Catch Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and your favourite princesses and princes as they decorate Tokyo Disneyland with their dreamy floats! Check the official Tokyo Disneyland site for the schedule!
Themed lands
Tokyo Disneyland has seven zones to explore, and a day’s more than enough to explore all of them! Check out this Tokyo Disneyland map if you need help planning your itinerary.
Start your journey at Tomorrowland, where Monsters, Inc. Ride and Go Seek! is. Then, work your way around the park counter-clockwise, so you end up back at Tomorrowland by afternoon in time for the daytime parade!
Wanna know what to expect in each of the themed zones? Here’s all you need to know:
1. World Bazaar
As soon as you enter Tokyo Disneyland, you’ll step into World Bazaar. Don’t forget to stop by this shopping arcade before you leave, so you can shop for souvenirs to take home.
2. Tomorrowland
Interested in all things about outer space and future tech? Tomorrowland is the area for you! Here, you can find fan-favourite attractions such as the Happy Ride with Baymax, Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters, Space Mountain, and the Monsters, Inc. Ride and Go Seek.
3. Toontown
At Toontown, you can find how Disney characters live. In this suburban toon neighbourhood, you can play with Donald Duck, Mickey, Minnie, and Chip N Dale inside their houses. There's even a kiddie rollercoaster for the little kids!
4. Fantasyland
What's a visit to Tokyo Disneyland without seeing the iconic Cinderella's Castle? To see this trademark palace, head over to Fantasyland, home to Disney's classic films, such as Beauty and the Beast, Snow White, and Peter Pan. If you're looking for the whimsical "it's a small world" ride, this is the zone to go to!
5. Critter Country
Is Splash Mountain on your ride list? Go to Critter Country, a land based on the Disney film Song of the South. The other ride in this zone is the Beaver Brothers Explorer Canoes, where you can free float on a canoe along the Rivers of America on the nearby Westernland.

Of course, while crowds may get bigger during the holidays, it's still great to visit Tokyo Disneyland during October and November for the Halloween and Christmas events.
Is Tokyo Disneyland worth visiting?
