Things to do in Ta Van Village

Very good trip, including food and accommodation, the itinerary is well arranged, Sapa is very relaxing, although the car ride is long, but it is worth the trip.

The stay at Sapa Unique hotel was so pleasant whereby restaurants, massage and shops are just within walking distance outside of the hotel. staff are super friendly and helpful, breakfast and lunch are included at the hotel. I opted out Ham Rong mountain on the 3rd day as my legs were sore from the 4km hike at the rice field (Lao Cai village). Went strolling near Sun Plaza where street vendors are selling bags, shawl and some small souvenirs. It was a good tour.

Yes... the trek from Hanoi to Sapa was tiring given it's a 6 hour-ish journey on the road. Mikey the tour operator from SST Travel was amazing in terms of providing clear and concise communications packed with useful information over WhatsApp before and after the trip to make sure every participant in the group was well looked after. I won't hesitate to recommend them any time. (Have been with them multiple times on other local excursions in the past. Not a single bad experience ever.) Perhaps in hindsight, I'd advise those visiting to bring an extra pair of shoes as it might get muddy in parts of the tour.

It was a wonderful experience. It's good to be reminded that the trek is not so beginner-friendly. The first trail is a bit difficult for newbies.

Appreciate that Mikey contacted us a day prior to the travel date with details on the transportation to get us to Sapa. The weather in late March is still rainy/ misty / foggy. Hence couldn’t see much at Fansipan and Ham Rong Mountain. The walk to Cat Cat village, Ta Phin Village and Lao Chai village is relatively easy. Pretty scenic too. But for folks with knees issues, a hiking pole may help especially at Cat Cat village in the wet weather. Food at Sapa Unique Hotel is average with a fairly portion. Staff at accommodation helped to check weather condition before assisting us to get the tickets to Fansipan too. We had different guides for the village walk on the 2 different days. Generally friendly and one was especially thoughtful to look out for the older folks in the group.
