10 Best Ramen Restaurants In KL & PJ
1. Menya Shi-Shi Do
Menya Shi Shi Do almost always dominates the list when it comes to recommendations of good ramen in Klang Valley. Don't be fooled by this humble-looking restaurant in Jaya One, the bowls of hearty noodles here are packed with flavour and punch (we have a soft spot for their black garlic tonkotsu ramen pictured above!).
The rich broth here is cooked for more than 48 hours to achieve its delicious taste, and you can choose your preference of single, double, or triple flavour depending on how flavourful you'd like your soup to be. Besides usual ramen flavours, Ramen Shi Shi Do also serves some experimental items including dry nasi lemak ramen (pictured above)! Due to its affordable price and consistently-delicious ramen, expect a long queue if you head over during lunch or dinner time.
- Address: Lot 100 P2.039, The School Jaya One, No 72A, Jalan Universiti, 46200 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
2. Ramen Bar Shi Shi Do
Also by the folks behind Menya Shi-Shi Do, Ramen Bar Shi Shi Do is a new kid in town, having just opened its doors in Gasket Alley, PJ this month! This new eatery has a vibe that's much different from the humble restaurant in Jaya One - meticulously designed and decorated, you'll feel as if you're stepping into an authentic izakaya (informal Japanese bar) in Japan with the restaurant's quaint, retro vibe.
Besides good old ramen (that are equally as good as the ones at Menya Shi-Shi Do), Ramen Bar Shi Shi Do is also great for a Japanese hotpot feast and pairing your meal with a glass of cold beer after a long day.
- Address: The Gasket Alley, Pjs 13, 46200 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
3. Menya Hanabi
Unlike most ramen restaurants that serve up bowls of soupy goodness, Menya Hanabi specializes in maze-soba, a dry noodle dish topped with flavourful minced meat, spring onions, nori, garlic, a delicious sauce, and (usually) a raw egg yolk. This soup-less ramen dish is typically eaten in summer in Japan! Mix everything in your bowl together and get ready for refreshing, bursting flavours as you take your first bite. The noodles used for maze-soba are thicker and chewier than the ramen you're probably familiar with.
Fun fact: Menya Hanabi is actually a Taiwanese-inspired ramen restaurant that originates from Nagoya, Japan. After slurping down your noodles, allow the server to add on a scoop of rice and eat it with the remaining sauce in your bowl!
- Address: No 16, Jalan Radin Bagus 6, Sri Petaling, 57000 Kuala Lumpur || 2-37-1, Jalan Anggerik Vanilla, Seksyen 31, Kota Kemuning, 40460 Shah Alam, Selangor || Block E-G-3A, Plaza Arkadia, Jalan Residen 3, Desa Parkcity, 52200 Kuala Lumpur
4. Mitsuyado Seimen
Just like Menya Hanabi, Mitsuyado Seimen challenges your normal expectations of a hot bowl of ramen cooked in flavourful broth. The restaurant specializes instead in tsukemen, a specialty ramen dish that was invented in 1961 by a restaurateur in Tokyo, Japan.
Tsukemen (also known as 'dipping ramen') typically consists of dry noodles (usually udon or soba) which are to be dipped in a separate bowl of broth before being slurped down. Mitsuyado Seimen serves up their signature tsukemen with delicious chashu and yuzu oil-infused broth. You can also opt for the spicy version if you're craving an extra kick, or can even choose to enjoy your noodles paired with melted cheddar cheese!
- Address: 2nd Floor, The Starling Mall Unit S-229, 6, Jalan SS 21/37, Damansara Utama, 47400 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
5. Super Ramen by Ru Di Fook
Super Ramen claims to serve "ramen that makes you feel super good". Unlike the atmosphere in most other ramen restaurants, Super Ramen is hip and chic, offering yummy ramen and inventive cocktails in a creatively-decorated space.
Don't expect traditional ramen flavours here, Super Ramen's fusion menu is full of surprises, serving unique flavours from duck confit ramen to ramen with tiger prawns and even laksa ramen! They also serve rice bowls and unique desserts. Pair your noodles with one of their inventive sake cocktails to end your evening on a high note.

If you love a full-bodied, thick, creamy, flavourful ramen broth, you have to pop by for a taste. Slurp down your noodles paired with their signature thick-cut flamed chashu that will leave you craving for a second helping.

Also located in Uptown Damansara, Ramen Seirock-ya is a Halal-certified ramen restaurant that's popular amongst Muslim and non-Muslim ramen lovers alike. Originating from Tsukuba City, Japan, it was finally introduced to Malaysians with the opening of its first outlet in 2019.
Ramen Seirock-ya specializes in Toripaitan Ramen, noodles with a rich, flavourful chicken broth that includes lots of collagen (great for beauty!). Besides Toripaitan Ramen, you can also enjoy other hearty bowls of goodness such tan-tan men, tsukemen, and spicy ramen!
- Address: 6-G, Jalan SS 21/35, Damansara Utama, 47400 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
8. Aori Ramen
Aori Ramen rose to fame for a special reason - the establishment originates from Seoul and is owned by Big Bang's Seungri, attracting throngs of KPop fans the moment it landed in Malaysia! The restaurant offers a unique dining experience much like at the popular Ichiran Ramen in Japan, where diners eat at one-person booths and are served their meals directly from the kitchen via a small curtained opening in front of them. The joint is perfect for introverts or if you enjoy eating alone!
Tuck into a satisfying bowl of noodles that can be customized according to your preference (you can specify your preferred spiciness level and add on condiments if you crave more flavour). The signature Don Kotz Ramen here pairs a delicious pork bone broth with special 1.1mm Hoso noodles that are thinner and more springy than usual ramen noodles.

Serving chicken ramen with an authentic Japanese recipe all the way from Tokyo, the restaurant uses ingredients that are directly imported from Japan such as dried scallops from Hokkaido and seaweed salt from Seto!
Diners can choose either to have a premium or natural soup when placing your order, though most people who have dined here recommend getting the premium version that offers a richer and creamier flavour!

Located in Damansara Uptown, the ramen bar is decked with a super cute entrance, neon lights, and comfortable seating, and serves a unique miso soy milk ramen that's not commonly found on the menu of other ramen restaurants.
Expect a well-balanced, milky, slightly sweet broth paired with al-dente noodles, chashu pork belly, nori, wood ear fungus, scallions, and a soft boiled egg. A must-try if you like the taste of soy milk! If you're hesitant to try it out, you can also order a good old bowl of tonkotsu ramen.
