Bali trip essentials 🇮🇩
Get your transport settled with a private car charter or car rental
With lots of different areas to explore, the best and most hassle-free way to get around Bali is definitely by car. We'd recommend booking a private charter or renting a car for your adventures (really depends if you'd like to sit back and relax with a professional driver behind the wheel or plan your own road trip) - this way you won't have to worry about flagging down taxis in hard-to-reach areas. If you have a motorbike license, you can also rent a motorbike or scooter from just RM25 a day!
Save some bucks with a Klook Bali Pass
The Klook Bali Pass helps you bundle up and save more when you visit multiple Bali attractions! Featuring tickets to Waterbom Bali and Bali Zoo as well as fun activities like watersports at Tanjung Benoa, ATV Rides, Bali Swing visits, and more, it's a great way to save some bucks off your trip expenses. You can also add on your Bali private car charter and a day tour to Nusa Penida to complete the experience.
Best things to do, eat & see in Ubud & Gianyar
Dotted with shrines, rice paddies, and mountains, escape the crowds at Bali’s heart of culture and be wowed by the beautiful landscapes of Ubud. ⛰
1. Tegalalang Rice Fields
The Tegalalang Rice Terraces are one of the most stunning-looking terraced landscapes in Ubud region. Although it's frequented by many tourists, you’ll still catch the locals hard at work ploughing the fields. Seeing these farmers hard at work just might have you heeding your mother’s advice to eat every last grain of rice. Put on comfortable shoes and go on an easy hike through the splendid terraced landscapes here!
- Address: Jl. Raya Tegallalang, Tegallalang, Kec. Tegallalang, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80561, Indonesia
2. Bali Swing and Bali Bird Nest
While you’re there, you can get the million-dollar swing and bird nest shot you see on your Instagram feeds. Here's a special tip from us - instead of queueing for the more popular swing near the entrance of the rice fields, take the swing at the Tegalalang Rice Fields for an aerial and panoramic shot of the rice terraces.
- Address: Jl. Raya Tegallalang, Tegallalang, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80561, Indonesia
3. Ubud Traditional Art Market
These bags that have been featured in every Instagrammer’s #ootd can cost an arm and a leg outside of Bali but you can get them at a steal at the Ubud Traditional Art Market. We got ours for around IDR 150000 (~SGD 16).
- Address: Jalan Raya Ubud No.35, Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80571, Indonesia

5. Mount Batur
Break a sweat and you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking (literally) views of Bali on a Mount Batur Sunrise Trek. Mount Batur is an active volcano that promises views of the mountain and crystal clear waters of Lake Batur. It took us about 2 hours to get to scale up Mount Batur one way, but this may vary depending on your fitness level.
Before your hike, remember to pack:
- A jacket - it gets really cold at the peak and base of the mountain
- Extra Water - even though a bottle of water is provided, you’ll need it!
- Head torch - a handheld torchlight is provided but bring a head torch and ditch having to hold onto your torch to get better balance
- A good pair of sport shoes - ditch those sneakers and wear a good pair of sport shoes if you don’t want to risk tripping on loose rocks.
Klook your Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking for a hassle-free adventure - the tour package comes with 2-way hotel transfer, breakfast up the mountain, and a friendly guide!
