1. Central Park
There’s no better place to start your cycling journey than at Central Park, the fifth largest park in the city. What better way to explore this place than on a bike where you can enjoy the views at your own pace, stop anytime to capture moments, and even lose some calories while you’re at it! To make things lighter for you, rent a bike so you won’t have to hassle yourself by bringing your own.
This man-made wonder is not just spacious enough for biking, you can also find a spot to have a picnic when you get hungry. Take a nap, grab a bite, or spend quality time with your friends and family in a calming environment and setup. Good thing we’ve got a bike rental with a picnic package just a click away so you can immediately start your adventure!
As you bike through this giant park, you’ll be able to see different plants, trees, and species of birds like the House Wren, a small and common backyard bird with feathers colored white and brown; American Robin, a common bird in the park with feathers colored gray, black, brown, and a hint of white; Blue Jay, a large songbird with feathers colored blue, white, and black; and more. Nothing sounds more relaxing than that! Other than all the nature there is to see at Central Park, the endless paths will also take you to see the different art, history, and architecture that make this iconic attraction in New York a must-visit!

Klook Tip: Bike rentals in New York City are best reserved online and ahead of the day you’re planning to go out and bike so that when you get there, your bike will be ready for you!
2. Brooklyn Bridge
What an amazing experience it will be to step foot on one of the most beautiful and iconic bridges ever built, the Brooklyn Bridge! This suspension bridge spanning the East River that connects Manhattan and Brooklyn was built in the 19th century and was the very first bridge to use steel for cable wire. Since its construction, the Brooklyn Bridge has become an essential landmark of New York because of its brilliant engineering and beautiful architecture. It also made life easier for New Yorkers because traveling to either Manhattan or Brooklyn is much faster than before when ferries were the only transportation available to cross the river.
Exploring this bridge by foot is fun but biking across it is much more exciting and less crowded. This postcard-perfect cycling destination has a jaw-dropping view of Manhattan! And did I mention that the city skyline, Lower East Side, and World Trade Center can be viewed perfectly from this bridge too? Bike across the Brooklyn Bridge at your own pace and explore the neighborhoods of Wall Street, Little Italy, and Chinatown. Klook Tip: Don’t forget to bring a camera to savor the moment and capture some memories!
3. The High Line
What used to be an elevated railway was transformed into a public park to cater to those who want a breath of fresh air once in a while. With several bike stations located inside the park, this public space has become a go-to for some cyclers in the city. Explore the beauty of the park’s nature and environment as you ride through the trails, feel free to stop anytime and park your bike whenever you spot something that strikes your interest. After all, The High Line is more than just a park, it’s also a place where you can admire contemporary art for free like 57 Forms of Liberty by Ibrahim Mahama, The Baayfalls by Jordan Casteel, Retainer by Hannah Levy, and so much more!
4. Governors Island
If you’ve been craving a bike ride that’s close to the sea, then head onto Governors Island! This 172-acre island in New York Harbor flaunts a waterfront view as you bike around the area with nothing much to worry about since almost no motor vehicles will be in sight. So, go ahead and feel the cool breeze and enjoy the fresh scent of the sea as you explore the island. There are so many activities to do here especially if you visit with your friends and family. You can go for a few rounds of volleyball, badminton, frisbee, or whatever sport you feel like playing. If you’re not feeling active, you can take a stroll or set up a mat to sit on and just admire the calm nature surrounding you.
5. Old Putnam Trail
Are you ready to take on a challenging trail? If yes, then the Old Putnam Trail should be your next destination. This trail is covered mostly in trees, dirt, and grass so make sure to come prepared with lots of water and extra clothing. Since it isn't a fully paved road, biking here won’t be easy. It can be muddy at times so it will be best to check for weather reports before planning your ride here at the Old Putnam Trail.
Klook Tip: Wear something comfy but cute so you won’t have a hard time biking around, and at the same time, still looking stylish for that Instagram photo.
As you bike through, feel free to play some music to add to your relaxing environment. You can even bring your dog if you want to, just make sure to keep your dog on a leash. For you to have the best and smoothest ride when you visit this trail, use a road bike!
