1. Batik Painting at Jadi Batek
Sure, you’ve worn batik, but have you made batik before? The creation of an original piece may take a while; first you’ll have to come up with a design, then draw or stamp the motif on with wax, and only then can you move on to dyeing the fabric.
Skip the hassle and take the fast track with this Batik Colouring Workshop where you and your family get to paint your own batik! Play artisan for a day; choose from their wide selection of premade designs and stain the canvas with vibrant dyes to create your own masterpiece.
- Price: RM38 (Canvas colouring)
- Total: RM152 (4 pax)
2. MinNature Malaysia
At MinNature Malaysia, the entire city can fit in the palm of your hands. Your walk through the museum begins with displays of itty bitty hawker stalls ‘selling’ local delights. Visitors will then walk into room after room of miniature sculptures highlighting Malaysia’s architecture and culture.
Other than the fun facts scattered around the museum, MinNature keeps guests vigilant with their scavenger hunt. Your mission (apart from admiring the craftsmanship that goes into creating these detailed miniatures) is to look for special characters, like the Hulk, hidden amongst the realistic landscapes.
- Price: RM27 (Adult), RM22.50 (Child, 6-18 years)
- Total: RM99 (4 pax)
3. Utama Farm
Another unique spot you can go to with your loved ones is Utama Farm! Utama Farm isn't your usually city farm - in just one place, you can take part in activities like fishing and baseball batting. The fun doesn't stop there, as you can even pick fresh leafy greens to bring home! There's even a petting zoo for the animal lovers in your family.
One of their most unique activities is prawning. Similar to regular fishing, prawning requires a rod, bait, and a whole lot of patience. However, unlike traditional fishing, you won’t be sitting at the side of a lake under the hot sun, hoping for a fish to swim by. Instead, you get to chill in a shaded area and catch prawns from a pond that’s full of them.

- Tiger prawn fishing: From RM36.10 per pax
- Freshwater big head prawn fishing: From RM42.75 per pax
