Itching for fresh air and some morning exercise? Break a good sweat by going on a biking adventure! We've compiled a list of cycling routes around KL with scenic views that are great for people of all ages and stamina levels, including children and those who are new to cycling!

1. The Central Park, Desa Park City
Blessed with a picturesque lake and lots of lush greenary, Desa Park City is one of our favourite cycling spots in KL. The path offers tree-lined jogging pathways with loops ranging from 1km to 2.3km! Circle the idyllic lake on your bike and feel the refreshing lakeside breeze against your cheek.
Desa Park City is also great for picnics!
2. Taman Botani Negara, Shah Alam
Located in Shah Alam, Taman Botani Negara is Malaysia's first agriculture park, constructed in 1986. Spanning an area of 1,295 hectares, it is one of the largest botanical parks in Malaysia as well as in the world. Allocate a few hours to explore the many gardens, hills, and open spaces here!
3. Forest Research Institute Of Malaysia (FRIM)
FRIM is another popular cycling spot in KL, with a number of approved mountain bike trails with varying ranges of difficulty and terrain. Whether you're a beginner biker or a pro, there'll be a trail for you here, including kid-friendly paths perfect for a family day out. Take a refreshing dip in one of the waterfalls here after sweating it out!
FRIM is also great for hiking or even a picnic!
4. Taman Tasik Titiwangsa
A calm green oasis nestled in the heart of the bustling city, the Titiwangsa Lake Garden overlooks the city skyline and offers lots of fun spaces for outings with friends or family, including wide, flat pavements suitable for cycling. Bike rental is unavailable here, so make sure you bring your own bike or rent one on Klook!
5. Putrajaya Botanical Garden
Dotted with lots of meandering paths that are great for cycling and themed gardens with beautiful blooms, the Putrajaya Botanical Garden is another gem for cyclists. Although its a bit of a drive from the city centre, the tranquil surroundings here make the drive worth it. Head over in the morning or evening to beat the heat!
6. Kepong Metropolitan Park
Also known as Taman Layang-Layang Metropolitan Kepong, the Kepong Metropolitan Park is a popular kite-flying spot loved by the locals. The 95-hectare park also comes with a 3km cycling path surrounding the lake - the path is flat and easy to bike around even for children. Stay till the evening to catch a pretty sunset by the lake!
7. Bukit Kiara Park, TTDI
Warning: you may be joined by cheeky monkeys on your ride here! The Bukit Kiara Park in TTDI has wide, flat paths great for jogging and cycling. Besides that, there are also some more challenging, steep trails that are fun for mountain bikers!
8. Perdana Botanical Garden
Also affectionately known as the Lake Gardens, the Perdana Botanical Garden is a sprawling park with tree-lined trails, landscaped gardens, a beautiful lake, fountains, and even a planetarium! The vibe here is peaceful and air is fresh, making it a great cycling spot away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
9. Taman Jaya Park, Seksyen 10, Petaling Jaya
This is a favourite spot for cycling and jogging among the residents of PJ. Located just opposite Amcorp Mall and easily-accessible via the Taman Jaya LRT station, Taman Jaya Park was first built in the 1960s but has been upgraded along the years to include facilities including gazebos, resting stops, and public toilets along the cycling route.
