Take A Peek Inside The Secretive Ghibli Museum
The dreamy Ghibli Museum located in Tokyo's western suburbs is a one-of-a-kind whimsical wonderland dedicated to the legendary Studio Ghibli film studio. The museum attracts a huge number of tourists and Studio Ghibli fans all-year-round but tickets are extremely limited and the space has always been shrouded in an aura of mystery due to the museum's no-photography policy.
Visitors are not allowed to take pictures or record videos inside the museum to keep their focus on the exhibits and emotions instead of busying themselves with capturing everything with their cameras.
The Ghibli Museum has however recently launched a virtual tour series on their official Youtube page (and some free video call wallpapers on their website!) to give Studio Ghibli fans a look inside its whimsical walls! Now you can have a sneak peek of the enchanting Studio Ghibli universe even from home.
A Glimpse Inside The Wonderland
In a series of behind-the-scene staff video diaries, you can have a peek into the quirky museum, spot your favourite Ghibli characters, and marvel at some sets modelled after some of Ghibli's iconic films.
According to their YouTube page, they will be updating the page weekly with new videos. As of writing, they have three videos uploaded so far - a special behind-the-scenes night tour of the museum, a tour of the “Where a Film is Born” room, and a look into the museum’s painted foyer ceiling featuring many popular characters. You'll even get to peek into Straw Hat Cafe, their special restaurant that serves up a variety of adorable Ghibli-inspired dishes from films such as 'Howl's Moving Castle' and 'Kiki's Delivery Service'!
