Hello, Jollibee!
This week, Jollibee Food Corp announced that they have signed a joint venture to own and operate Jollibee stores in West Malaysia! The venture also mentioned their ten-year plan of opening at least 120 new Jollibee outlets across Malaysia from 2022 onwards under the flagship Jollibee brand. As of now, there is only one sole Jollibee outlet in Malaysia located in Kota Kinabalu which opened its doors in 2018. As a matter of fact, Malaysians have been requesting for more outlets to be opened in Malaysia for years and we're finally getting what we've been wishing for!
What's The Hype Over Jollibee?
Jollibee is a popular Filipino fast-food restaurant known for its menu of American-influenced items as well as casual Filipino fare. Some popular items that Jollibee fans love include its juicy classic fried chicken, the Yumburger, their house hamburger that has been a favourite of Jollibee patrons since the early days, and Jolly Spaghetti, a unique sweet Filipino-style spaghetti (which is known as "the meatiest, cheesiest spaghetti"!).
Localized flavours and products are also often available in branches outside the Philippines - there's apparently even nasi lemak at the Jollibee outlets in Sabah and Brunei!
Who's excited to grab some juicy Jollibee fried chicken soon? Keep an eye out for opening announcements and more updates on the official Jollibee Malaysia Facebook page!
