Details Of The KLOOK x AIG Free Insurance Policy

1. What are the covers/benefits provided?

Policyholders will be entitled to a daily hospital cash allowance (RM100/day for up to 14 days) in the event of hospitalization due to specified infectious diseases. Check out the list of 14 covered infectious diseases in (4).

2. Who is eligible for this insurance policy?

To be eligible for cover under this policy, you must be:

An adult aged 18 - 60 years of age
A Malaysian citizen, Malaysian permanent resident, or holder of a valid employment pass/dependent pass
Not engaged in occupations with high risk or exposure to hazardous conditions (e.g: military personnel, police, security personnel, professional sportsperson)

3. How long is this policy coverage?

The policy provides coverage for 2 consecutive months and is non-renewable.

4. What diseases does the policy cover?

This insurance policy provides coverage for up to 14 specified infectious diseases as listed below:

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)
Dengue fever
Hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD)
Avian influenza/'bird flu' (H5N1, H9N2, H7N7, H7N9)
Ebola virus disease
Tuberculosis
Measles
Nipah viral encephalitis
Japanese viral encephalitis
Malaria
Plague
Rabies
Middle east respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV)
Zika virus disease

5. What are some major exclusions under this policy?

No claim under the policy will be paid in connection with:

Pre-existing conditions or complications arising from them
Mental or nervous disorder
Pregnancy or childbirth
Suicide or attempted suicide
Criminal or illegal act (including traffic offenses)
Acts under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Routine health checks, treatment, or investigation of a preventive nature
Vaccinations, acupuncture, or any treatment which is not medically necessary
Certificate holders engaging or participating in any professional/extreme sport or activity/occupation that presents a high level of inherent danger, high risk or exposure to hazardous conditions
Any aerial activity except as a fare-paying passenger in a commercial aircraft
HIV or HIV related illness including AIDS
War, invasion, and rebellion
Any illness or specified infectious diseases occurring during the first 14 days from the effective date
Any injury and specified illnesses

Note: this list is non-exhaustive. Please refer to the policy wordings for the full list of exclusions.

6. Does the insurance provide overseas travel coverage?

This policy only provides coverage within Malaysia (valid for 2 months) and does not cover diagnosis during overseas travel or within 14 days upon return from overseas travel.

Notes:

The policy coverage begins a day after you've submitted your details and will cover you for two months (60 days).
The waiting period for the diagnosis of any illness or specified infectious diseases is 14 days from the effective date.
