Buka Puasa With Santapan Warisan Ramadan Buffet 2021 At Pasar Baru, New World PJ

The holy month of Ramadan is here and you know what that means - it's time to start planning your iftar dinners too! This year, why not gather your family and friends to buka puasa together over a bountiful spread at Pasar Baru, a one-stop restaurant serving the best culinary delights buffet-style at New World Petaling Jaya Hotel.

Paying homage to the pasar culture in Malaysia, you can now experience a unique take on communal dining at Pasar Baru, a flavourful melting pot that celebrates our country's delicious, authentic delicacies. Inspired by the fun and flavour of Malaysia's lively street food markets, diners can explore the space and choose their favourite dishes from live cooking stations.

This year, New World PJ introduces Santapan Warisan, a sumptuous buffet spread featuring more than 100 dishes of local and traditional Malaysian delicacies. Gather and celebrate with your loved ones this Ramadan as you enjoy an exceptional dining experience here, skillfully put together by the master chefs at Pasar Baru.

Here's a peek on some of the things you can expect to feast on here:

Start your journey through the buffet with their selection of local treats to membuka selera with! Take your pick from their various kerabu options, lemang, ketupat or even Middle Eastern delights, such as the hummus and fattoush salad (we recommend pairing these with one of the buffet's signature dishes, the roasted whole lamb with kabsa rice).

You can also choose to warm up your bellies with a bowl of hot soup, from their spicy seafood soup to a homely lotus root one. However, the highlight here would definitely be their Sup Gearbox, made through a slow boil process into a hearty beef bone marrow broth. It's not often you'll see this traditional dish in a buffet!

For those of you looking for light snacking options, Pasar Baru will be serving a wide variety of finger food, from keropok udang and papadom, to fried goods such as the well-loved banana fritters. Pickled fruits such as jeruk mangga and jeruk pala will also be served, as well as a variety of dates to pick from. Those looking for healthier options can even toss up their own ulam-ulam!

If there is a section for us to highlight, this would be the one. Their wide variety of traditional Malay favourites are mouth-watering to say the least. Start off with a couple sticks of satays and follow up with a hearty plate of rice topped off with your choice of lauk - choose from kambing masak merah, ikan goreng berempah and many more!

The buffet isn't just strictly Malay food - you can also get a variety of Indian and Chinese delights here as well! From Indian grilled meats and curries, to Chinese stir-fried dishes and chicken rice, you can find all your local favourites at Pasar Baru.

Are you team noodles or team rice? Whatever your answer is, you'll get the best of both worlds here. At the nasi kandar section, pile up your plates with biryani rice and top it off with delicious dishes such as fried turmeric cabbage or lamb dalcha. You can also watch as a live chef prepares you a steaming bowl of curry laksa, made with your choice of noodles and condiments.

The dessert spread here had us spoiled for choice! Cool down with an ice-cold bowl of ais kacang or your choice of soft-serve Malaysian ice cream. A variety of cold sweet treats also await you - choose from cream or mousse cakes, sago gula Melaka and refreshing sliced fruits. If you're looking for more traditional choices, rest assured because Pasar Baru is also serving a variety of kuih-muih to choose from as well as warm bowls of sweet bubur variations.
