The Complete 4D3N Phuket Itinerary
Day 1: South Phuket & Old Town
5.45am - 7.00am: Sunrise at Promthep Cape
Kick off your Phuket adventure early with the sunrise at Promthep Cape, situated on the southern tip of the province. Most tourists come here in the evenings to catch the sunset, but the spectacular sunrise experience here is an equally stunning sight to see. You'll need to complete an easy 10-minute trek to reach the viewpoint though, so do wear comfortable footwear!
7.00am - 10.00am: Explore Nai Harn Beach
Spend the rest of your morning soaking in the sun and sea breeze at Nai Harn Beach, a picturesque white sandy bay that is quieter and away from most of the tourist crowds. There are also plenty of eateries and street food stalls near the lagoon for you to grab your breakfast, as well as recreation parks and a lovely temple that are worth the visit.
If you've got some time to spare, we highly recommend heading up the iconic Karon Viewpoint too (just a 10-minute drive away!), which does not fail to deliver spectacular vistas of the surrounding hills, beaches and sea.
10.30am - 11.30am: The Big Buddha
Visit the Big Buddha, an important and probably the most revered landmark in Phuket. Also known as The Great Buddha of Phuket, this massive statue sits majestically atop the Nakkerd Hill, made up of concrete and Burmese white marble, and is 148 feet tall! From up here, you'll also be granted with a stunning 360-degree view of the island.
12.00pm - 2.00pm: Lunch at One Chun Restaurant
Before your exploration of Phuket Old Town, head for lunch at One Chun Cafe & Restaurant. A must-visit for both tourists and locals, this Michelin star restaurant is easily one of the best places to eat in Phuket, where you can enjoy mouthwatering Thai delicacies and a lovely, vintage atmosphere.
- Opening hours: 10am - 10pm, open daily
- Address: 48/1 Thepkrasattri Road, Talat Yai, Phuket 83000, Thailand
Note: One Chun Cafe & Restaurant is NOT halal. For a halal alternative, you can try out Anwa Yentofu located along Phangnga Road.
2.00pm - 8.00pm: Phuket Old Town
The rest of your day can be easily spent exploring the Old Phuket Town. With European-style colloquial buildings and quirky shops tucked away in narrow streets, it’s hard to recall that you are on an island famed for being a tropical beach getaway. Go on a stroll along the colourful Thalang Road, or visit the various cafes and handicraft stores that sell locally-made souvenirs and knick knacks.
Stay until the sun goes down for the night markets here, though most are only open on the weekends so do check on their opening hours before you travel! One that you should visit is the Phuket Indy Night Market, known for its wide variety of goods to buy, as well as delicious food you can enjoy for dinner, like mango rice, spicy salad and seafood BBQ.
Ease your travel within Phuket by booking a private car charter to bring you around:
