Christmas 2024: These 9 Malls In KL & PJ Are Looking Dreamy And Picturesque This Festive Season!

With the December holidays and the year-end fast approaching, malls across Klang Valley are getting into the festive spirit. While a white Christmas remains a dream for most of us, it's still possible to feel warm and merry with the dazzling festive decor set up across town. Pssst, if you're planning to head to the malls, be sure to adhere to the SOP while you're out and about. Stay safe and Merry Christmas in advance guys!

We've always been a fan of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur's extravagant Christmas decor, from their magical Christmas tree featuring 1,000 Mickey figurines back in 2018 to their unique Star Wars-themed decoration a few years back (featuring a massive 30 feet Millennium Falcon Replica!).

This year, Dior created a bespoke holiday installation of glittering gold and luxurious lights. The indoor set up features a regal golden "tree" adorned with the brand's iconic logo and perfume bottles. You'll also see lights cascading down the mall's ceiling like a sparkling waterfall. Sticking with the concept of luxury and royalty, you can also find a Dior carriage at the entrance!

The decor outside takes on a different theme, with more classic Christmas trees and poinsettias lining the entrance walkway. You'll quickly notice the adorable animals in festive accessories waiting to greet you, and santa's sleigh (with reindeers, of course) are right by the fountain - be sure to take tons of pictures!

Indulge in the festive spirit by snapping a picture with Suria KLCC's iconic giant Christmas tree overlooking the lake of KLCC Park! If you come over at night, you'll get to catch the musical fountains in action. Here's a tip: capture both the tree and the twin towers in a single frame by standing the middle, with your camera set at a lower angle.

Besides the giant tree by the lake, the centre court of Suria KLCC is also decked out for the festive season with plenty of photo spots. This year, visitors get the explore this charming European Christmas village, complete with cosy shops, a wishing fountain, and a carriage. You can capture this sweet memory by popping by the photobooth located in the village's top shop!

For a true white Christmas, pay a visit to The Gardens Mall. Located on the ground floor, this long stretch of festive decor is a sight to behold. With its white structures, trees, baubles, animals, and plants, The Gardens Mall has turned into a paradise of photo spots - you'll definitely stand out against the all-white set up.

If you're there during the weekend, be sure to catch the Santa Claus and Mrs Claus meet and greet happening at 1PM and 5PM. There'll also be a musical and dance showcase by The Flitting Pixies at 3PM.

After snapping pictures at The Gardens Mall, cross the street and head to MidValley Megamall next! This year, MidValley's Christmas fiesta at the centre court features a tall animal sculptures, twinkling trees, fluffy "snow" hanging from branches, and several booths. Every corner warrants a photo - it was hard to pry ourselves away from this year's set up, although we had already spent quite some time posing in front of the adorable rabbit!

If we had to describe this year's decor in just a couple words, it would be whimsical and magical ✨.

This year, 1 Utama presents The Joyful Christmas Garden. Walk through the green arches and down the stone path, marvel at the 30-foot Christmas tree, and pay a visit to the enchanting Christmas castle. The attention to detail is what makes this set up so magical.

Don't forget to strike a pose with the knights in armor and twirl around with the rotating ballerina!

Sunway Pyramid is bringing bright colours back this holiday season. Inspired by kaleidoscopes, the set up plays with vibrant hues of red and gold, while the stained glass designs add a warmth to the mall. There's even a free photobooth for you to capture some sweet memories.

You can also get into the Christmas spirit by going on an ice skating date at Sunway Pyramid (ok yes we know that it's very different from the skating rinks at Christmas markets in Europe, but hey, it's the best you can get here!).

Similar to Sunway Pyramid, Sunway Velocity Mall is also celebrating the holidays with vibrant colours - the jewel tones make for a perfect background for your family outing photos! Apart from the Christmas Colourama theme, the mall is also hosting plenty of special events throughout the festive month.

Look out for special dance performances and DIY workshops, and most importantly, meet Santa Claus!
