[Review] #KlookTries: We Went Glamping At Stellar Golden Hill in Cameron Highlands

Camping is a pretty divisive activity— you either love it or hate it. Those who fall in the former category are typically nature enthusiasts who crave the sweet sound of crickets chirping among the trees and the thrill of preparing a meal on an open fire. The latter group, on the other hand, are those who are accustomed to the convenience of modern-day comforts. 

But what happens when you merge the two?

In an attempt to find the answer, we booked a one night stay at Stellar Golden Hill, the glamping experts who have been offering guests luxurious and unique stays since 2022. Located at the peak of the Golden Hills, this site offers campers, or in this case, glampers, a chance to experience glamping like never before. Other than luxury tents, they also have caravans and domes to take your nature getaway to the next level.

This wasn't any ordinary trip, though. We brought some of our Klook Kreators along with us to experience the cool weather and scenic views of Cameron Highlands. Apart from our comfy stay at Stellar, we also dropped by Flora Park, Mossy Forest, and the Boh Tea Plantation. This trip was a complete mystery to them too, as they didn't know where we were bringing them until we arrived. We'd also like to give a special shoutout to Samsung for providing us with a Galaxy Z Flip phone to capture our memories!

Every corner of Stellar Golden Hill is visually pleasing— neutral-toned decor, sheer curtains artistically draped overhead, and crystal chandeliers that hang majestically from the ceiling. Even the tall grass that line the walkway to the cafe look a little greener. Of course, everywhere you go you’ll be surrounded by green hills, and the blue sky will sparkle overhead. 

We had the chance to spend the night in one of the Starlux rooms, a transparent dome lined with curtains and surrounded by bamboo fences for full privacy. Inside, you’ll find a round bed and a sofa bed. This is the room you should choose if you’re planning for a relaxing trip as the there's a bathtub and complementary bath bombs, perfect for a warm soak in Cameron’s chilly atmosphere. Stellar Golden Hill truly plays to their strength of being located in nature; you can even draw the ceiling curtains of the dome to reveal the night sky!

This place prides itself for being Malaysia’s very first Caravan Glamping Company. Naturally, we made sure to book a night in The Cozy Caravan as well. These caravans occupy the higher sections of the camping site, but they do have a buggy service to help you bring your luggage up and down the hill. 

Just as its name suggests, The Cozy is a warm and cosy caravan fit for 2-4 people. It features 2 beds, as well as a kitchenette and a fridge (to store your freshly bought Cameron Highlands strawberries, of course!). Right outside you’ll find camping chairs and a table where you can sit back and relax. For ultimate camping vibes, we suggest feasting on instant cup noodles while listening to music on the bluetooth speaker ouside. 

The best part of the caravan was the hammock-like net that’s attached to the viewing deck. This is the perfect spot to lie down, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy the colours of the sunset. If you have kids with you, do keep an eye on them at all times as the viewing deck and hammock open up to the descending hills.

Although you won’t be hunting for sticks to build your own fire, you can still experience what it'll be like to sit around a campfire with their Tea Around the Stove set. Suited for 3-4 campers, this set includes premium tea, pastries, fruits, sweet potato, corn, and even marshmallows that you can roast over the portable stove. The tea warmed our hands that were cold from the wind, and we had a blast trying out different snack combinations (have you ever tried grilled oranges?).

For dinner, we had their BBQ and steamboat which comes with either tom yum or clear soup. This set includes fresh seafood like prawns, crabs, and mussels, as well as sausages, mushrooms, and instant noodles. 

Stellar even has movie nights! Grab your jacket and head up to the outdoor cinema to catch a fun film before retiring to your cosy room. 

If you want to go on a nature retreat without sacrificing your usual everyday comforts, Stellar Golden Hill is a top choice. Comfy rooms surrounded by beautiful scenery— what more could you ask for? The staff members are incredibly friendly and helpful too, which added to our experience.
