Here's an all-in-one guide to Water World in Ocean Park Hong Kong!
Put your bathing suits on and plan your next visit to Water World Ocean Park, Asia's first year-round seaside waterpark! This much-awaited water park in Hong Kong opened back in late 2021, and now we're excited to share everything you need to know, including exclusive insider tipsm to help you make the most of your visit. Be prepared and book your tickets ahead with Klook!
What is Water World Ocean Park?
Surrounded by greenery and sparkling waters, the massive Water World Ocean Park has been wowing locals since they opened back in September 2021, with its 27 rides and attractions, which include the very first indoor wave pool in the country and nine different water slides!
However, it did take four years of careful planning and construction before this new attraction came to be, but Water World proved that it was worth the wait. The massive park makes you feel as if you were stepping right into a colourful oasis, and the best part is that it implements innovative low energy usage and eco-friendly design, a surprising feat given its whopping size of 16-hectares.
Park safety measures & regulations
Water World Ocean Park goes above and beyond to ensure world-class safety and hygiene. The park also follows the Hong Kong government’s COVID-19 protocols to provide a worry-free experience for all its visitors.
Where to buy Water World Ocean Park tickets?
You can conveniently buy your Water World Ocean Park tickets on Klook! Customise your experience with a wide range of admission tickets, selecting from annual passes, priority passes and other seasonal offers.
The best part is that you can keep a flexible schedule by buying your one-day admission tickets first and deciding on your visit date later on, as these are open-dated. However, we do suggest to make an online reservation prior to your visit. All you have to do after purchasing your tickets is to book online via their official website, and then on the date of your visit, present your mobile or printed Klook voucher upon entry.
Klook Tip: Planning to visit the water park more than once? We highly recommend getting the Go Splash Annual Pass to enjoy unlimited access to Water World all-year long, as well as special discounts at Water World stores, a HK$20 shopping e-cash voucher and a birthday gift.
Must-try rides & attractions at Water World Ocean Park
Water World is divided into five zones - Splendid Reef, Torrential River, Thrill Valley, Adventure Coast, and Hidden Village. All areas are packed with unique rides and attractions catering to all kinds of visitors. Please note that some rides and attractions may be temporarily closed, so make sure to check out Water World Ocean Park's official website just in case.
1. Thrill rides
Kick off the holiday with a walk along the seafront at Splendid Reef, the park’s sprawling starting point. Jump into either the hair-raising water slides of Torrential River or try free-falling at Thrill Valley. Whatever you choose, you’re sure to have the time of your life at these ‘extreme’ attractions. We list down some favourites that you should try:
- Daredevil Drop - One of the three body slides at Thrill Valley. It’s a straight free-fall drop that will have your stomach turning upside down. You must be 120cm tall to ride with a maximum weight of 136kg to experience this heart-stopping attraction.
- Cyclone Spin - Hold tight to your inflatable seat at Cyclone Spin, a pitch-black slide that twists and turns in the most unexpected angles. Anyone with a minimum height of 110cm is welcome to try this out.
- Rainbow Rush: Race your friends and family at the colourful Rainbow Rush slide! This outdoor attraction at Torrential River allows you to dive headfirst into twisting tubes while on a rubber mat. Towards the finish line, you’ll experience a massive drop that will have you screaming your lungs out in excitement.
2. Chill attractions
If you’re looking for a more relaxing day at Water World, head over to Adventure Coast. Here you can lounge in a cabana while indulging in some snacks and a magnificent sea view. Meanwhile, the little ones who might be too short for the rides are more than welcome at Hidden Village, where child-friendly shows and attractions are available inside. Don’t miss out on the following:
- Horizon Cove - Be transported to the deep blue ocean at Horizon Cove, Hong Kong’s first indoor wave pool. Enjoy various wave patterns, a translucent skylight roof, and a giant LED backdrop screen that provides televised entertainment 24/7.
- Surf Striker - Ride the waves of Hong Kong’s first-ever indoor surfing simulator at Hidden Village! Learn the basics from certified trainers and gather tips to stay on top of your board when stronger waves hit. By the time you’re done, you’ll be ready to face the coast with a real surfboard in hand.
- Big Wave Bay - Catch a tan at Big Wave Bay, the park’s outdoor wave pool that merges flawlessly with the natural surroundings. Grab a floater for your little ones while the simulated waves gently lull you into a relaxing swim.
Dining options at Water World Ocean Park
Food won’t be a problem at Water World with its three dine-in options: Big Wave Snack, Cavern’s Kitchen, and Horizon Grill. Grab a quick bite of juicy fried chicken at Big Wave Snack, situated just a few steps away from Big Wave Bay. But if you’re hungry for a proper meal, you can find multinational dishes at Cavern’s Kitchen and halal food at Horizon Grill.

Where to stay?
With its close proximity to Ocean Park Hong Kong, staying at Ocean Park Marriott Hotel should be a no-brainer. Better yet, why not stay at The Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel, located right next door to the water park? Not only will you get to enjoy a luxurious staycation at these hotels, but you can also explore both Ocean Park attractions in one weekend. More than that, these hotels have a swimming pool and are family-friendly as well!
What to bring & what to wear?
Although there are lockers available in the park, swimming necessities aren’t included in the rental. Pack your waterproof bags as early now with the basics: a bottle of sunscreen, towels, goggles for the kids, swimming sandals, and rashguards for extra sun protection. If you’re running out of supplies, you can always check out the Splash Shop and Treasure Reef at the park for branded swimming apparel and souvenirs.
Some last-minute Klook tips before you go!
- Lockers are limited and offered on a first come, first serve basis, so make sure to book either a Family Storage or Standard Locker in advance on Klook!
- Queueing at a highly-anticipated theme park means a crowd that snakes around the bend, so make sure you arrive early and run straight to the most popular yet extreme rides. Skyhigh Falls and the Vortex queues can take more than an hour during peak times, but they’re definitely worth the race to the uphill platform.
- We recommended Surf Striker because it’s loads of fun, but it’s also a short ride. Each person can only enjoy 1.15 minutes on the board, which might not be ideal once peak time hits.
- Since you’re visiting a theme park, the shower area will be packed by closing time. Make sure to wash up ahead of time, at least 30-60 minutes before the last opening hour.
