Shirakawa-go tours

this was a good experience, except the weather. I would recommend travellers to visit the location in autumn or winter over summer, though there were lots of local tourists. you might enjoy it more in cooler weather.

Visited Shirakawago & Hida Takayama during non-peak season (a weekday in Jun 2024) was a splendid experience. Both places were not overcrowded, though some shops were closed. Highly recommend Menya Shirakawa (serving Takayama-style ramen with pork bone broth & fish flakes). Special thanks to energetic and caring tour guides (Tsutsumi -san and Yukie-san) who made the road trip very enjoyable. They enthusiastically introduced point of interests in Japan (beyond Shirakawago & Hida Takayama). Featuring a photo of Mount Haku (covered in snow) taken at resting stop.

I think this is one of the BEST tour I had been and value for money! Itinerary is full but not packed. We went to 3 places and I should say we were given enough time for each location. I think this tour would not be PERFECT if I don’t have have a great tour guide. Her name is KiKi and she is cute and is able to speak 3 different languages. She is very kind and offered 2 options for us: to follow her or to go on our own. I was thrilled I picked the first option. Kiki shown us the most time efficient way to explore that area.. and she is helpful and caring. kudos to the the tour bus and bus driver too. very comfortable ride. bus driver was kind enough to offer umbrellas when it was raining at one of the pit stop. and one amazing thing about our group was none of us was late for the entire trip! really really a good one! perfect!

This is the happiest Klook group I have ever joined! Thanks to tour guide Moon and driver Master Ding for their care and arrangements. Our group members are coming to the Philippines and Singapore. Thank you for taking care of us. We spent a wonderful two days with you! This time I took a small and medium-sized car, which was relatively comfortable. Moon also specially arranged for us to check in to see the snow. The southerners said they were really happy! We also went to eat roast pork with our group mates and tour guide, it was cheap and delicious. I don’t think Kenrokuen Garden is interesting because it rained that day and the cherry blossoms were not in bloom in mid-March, which was a pity. The hotel I stayed in this time was nice, and the shampoo products were very moisturizing and suitable.

This tour allowed us to explore the less accessible Ainokura village in Gokayama which is less touristy than the popular Shirakawa-go area. The duration allocated for both villages are appropriate. We are also very lucky to get a guide who is well versed in English.

The tour was great for a small group. We are able to go all the places in this itinerary. Will recommend this activity.

it's one of the best choice that we had. the tour was perfect from the pickup till the drop off point. they think all of the small details including the slipper when we are in the takayama jinya which if not wear it, it will be super cold.. the itenary is ok, we have enough free time to go with our own pace as this i a private tour (consist ls 6 person). I thank you the tour guide, Gary which is very knowlegeable and patiently answering queries from us including from my children plus able to take great pictures as well (it comes with the price hahaha).. the driver was also drive very well. I really recommended this tour for you.. two thumbs up !! P.S : Shirakawago is amazing during winter, feels like you travel to another dimension on earth.. no word can describe it.. you should try !

I think for anyone who wants to do this tour with small children, paying the extra cost for a private tour is almost necessary. But having our excellent guide, Masami-san, and safe driver, Katsumi-san, the tour was unforgettable.
