2024/12/30 group, there was no snow on the ground, but the snow scene in Shirakawa Gassho Village on the mountain was really beautiful, but the snow also started to melt that day, so I was lucky to have time to see the thick snow. The nectar boiled fish for lunch was the most impressive It is profound, can be eaten whole and is very delicious. The Gokayama terraces are covered with thick snow and are also very easy to take photos.

a useful pass to get around Japan however, do note that this does not include the toikaido line so if you are planning on going to Kyoto from Tokyo and back it will take longer than using tokaido line. you will also have to transfer from tsuruga to another train to complete the trip. overall if you’re okay with the extra time it takes to travel to Kyoto it does save money because it’s typically around $130cad for a direct ticket. I also used the pass to do day trips from Kyoto to Osaka, Nara, and Uji and also on some of the Tokyo lines that’s included on the last day.

Klook price is the cheapest. I received the pass within 48 hours. Very fast and reliable! The pass is easy to exchange for at most major JR ticket offices. It's very easy.
