Tour guide: Ms. Liu introduced the scenic spots very carefully and enthusiastically. The journey was smooth. She introduced Kumanoza Shrine and Ama Iwato in great detail. The Takachiho Gorge shuttle bus arrangement is great, we can go all the way down without having to climb back up. The tour guide can speak Chinese, Japanese, and a Korean tour guide is also arranged, making the whole journey very safe.

The leader was kind and lovely. He gave clear explanations and went to the designated location to explain the itinerary. The performance was good. It is recommended to take a one-day tour for convenience.

definitely a worthwhile sightseeing despite abt 3 hrs ride from Hakata. Remember to wear the right shoe for walking as there be lots of steps and stairs and slope up and down. Would also advise to prepare some light food and water for the trip to eat in the cus as its can be quite rush during the tour. Lastly appreciate 小刘 for the informative guide and the safe driving from the driver.

It was a fulfilling day~ I originally thought I wouldn’t be able to see the volcano, but fortunately, tour guide Wang Qi adjusted the time without any hesitation, and I was able to see the majestic volcano🌋The driver was also very professional, the car was very smooth and I didn’t get motion sickness~ The only thing I wish I could adjust was the website It says that we will arrive in the city at 18:00, but the actual trip will end at about 19:00. If you have other activities planned later, you may want to pay attention~

Because time is limited, I signed up for a one-day tour. The tour guide Yang was very good and could introduce every place in detail. When there were small episodes, they were always solved smoothly. I was lucky to see the volcano. I will sign up for a tour next time.

I should have met gogoday's gold medal tour guide. Ms. Shi Nan was very attentive. She introduced the stories of the scenic spots in English, Japanese, Chinese and three-channel languages along the way. She provided enthusiastic service throughout the whole process and left deep and beautiful memories for the journey~Easter egg: Itinerary ENDING every day 1 box of souvenirs per person, super high CP value!

Tips for Your Mount Aso Visit

When is the best time to visit Mount Aso?

The ideal times to explore Mount Aso are during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to November). During these seasons, the weather is pleasant, and the scenery is breathtaking, especially with the vibrant autumn foliage in November.

Please be aware that the crater area may be partially or fully restricted to visitors at times due to hazardous volcanic gases, inclement weather, or the potential for volcanic activity. It's best to confirm the volcano's status before your visit. Even if the summit surroundings are accessible, be cautious as the gases can be strong, especially for those with respiratory issues who should avoid getting too close to the crater.

How to get to Mount Aso?

Mount Aso is accessible by local train and bus from major cities in Kyushu. The nearest airport is Kumamoto Airport, from where you can take a bus or rent a car to reach the mountain. Additionally, a shuttle bus runs from the Mount Aso terminal to the crater's edge.

Can you drive up Mount Aso?

To catch a glimpse of the magnificent crater, you have several options, such as driving up Mount Aso parkway (a toll road), taking a bus, or going on a hike. However, make sure to verify any entry limitations related to volcanic gas.
