First time in Hong Kong? Here’s the ultimate airport guide from Klook!
Arriving at Hong Kong International Airport
After going through the usual arrival procedures, expect to find 2 terminals. In Terminal 1, you can shop at the SkyMart, and Terminal 2 offers the SkyPlaza for your entertainment. There’s free WiFi all around the complex, as well as power outlets to keep your devices juiced up. Take note that they only take Hong Kong/English plugs and USBs! Hong Kong/English plugs are plug types D and G. Type D plugs have three round pins in a triangular pattern, and type G plugs have three rectangular pins in a triangular pattern.
In the very rare case you need to stay at the airport longer than expected or you have a long stopover, you can pay to use their 24-hour airport lounges. The airport has 3 Plaza Premium Lounges for you to enjoy—2 located in Terminal 1 departures and 1 in Terminal 2 arrivals. Here, you can relax, shower, and even book a massage while you wait.
Book your stay at these comfortable lounges on Klook and enjoy extra perks!
Where to find banks, ATMs, and money changers
Need to exchange your Aussie dollars to some Hong Kong dollars? There are many ATMs around the complex, so you can easily get the money you need for your travel. ATMs and money changers are all found in Terminal 1, too.
- There are 9 Bank of China ATMs: 1 in Departure Level 7, 3 in Departure Level 6, and the rest in Arrivals Level 5.
- 3 Citibank ATMs can be found in Departure Level 7, Departure Level 6, and Arrivals Level 5.
- There are 7 HSBC ATMs available at the airport too. 3 of which are in Departure Level 6, and the rest are in Arrivals Level 5.

Where to get SIM cards
Keep in touch with your loved ones by getting a local SIM card. There are many shops around the airport where you can purchase one that’s right for you. You can also rent a pocket WiFi to connect your other gadgets to the internet.
Get your SIM cards and/or pocket WiFi at 1010, 7-Eleven, China Mobile, Nobletime AV & Telecom, RELAY, and Travelex Worldwide Money.
Food and drinks
Hong Kong Airport offers a variety of restaurants that will keep you filled up. In addition to that, there are water stations all around the complex for your convenience. It’s free for anyone to use, and it also offers both hot and cold water.
You can take your pick among their wide range of dining options. Most of the restaurants and cafés are found in Terminal 1, but you can also grab a light snack at the 7-Eleven in Terminal 2.
